New Segment - Weekly Feature

I have been thinking about this for awhile. Since 2009, the Impala's Trunk has been mainly reviewing my favorite television show Supernatural. Occasionally, I blog about other shows such as Lost, Glee and A Game of Thrones, and now Revolution and possible many more. Despite the fact that I am only one person, I am not a machine and I write slow, I do want to blog about other shows that I watch as some kind of reflection. I started blogging a few years ago because it is a form of diary writing for me, it is a great way to document my thoughts and a great way to collect fragments that inspire me to become a good storyteller. That's really the key reason behind my blog.

From now on, apart from the usual Supernatural review, the Impala's Trunk will also have a new segment that consists of the television shows that I watch during the week or so. I am thinking two to four shows max. The shows may or may not be the same every week, it's based on the stuff I watch during the week that worth blogging. They are not a full on 1,000 word in-depth review (and I don't do recap), but more like a snap shot of the episode, the storyarc and the characters as well as the after-thoughts or my crackpot theories. And yes, it will be like a 'This Week in TV With Tiny' kinda thing.

Hope you will tune in and share your thoughts with me.

The Year That Was 2011

As the files are being backed up to the Time Machine, I would like to take this opportunity to look back on a year of memorable moments that were blog-worthy for The Impala's Trunk, as well as to set sights on the horizon.

January 2011

The best New Years gift for Supernatural fans in Australia was announcement of the return of series (Smallville along with it) on the new digital channel, Eleven. Every man and his dog knew about the lack of support and promotion from the local TV network in Australia, and both shows were off air for awhile. You can't blame us for watching the shows we love so much via other channels. TV networks should distribute shows where fans choose watch it and when to watch it, right? Since the return of both shows, Eleven had been very supportive and committed, and fans are never shy in letting them know we appreciate them via Twitter.

PS: As I was composing this blog post, I saw an ad on Eleven promoting the return of Supernatural for January 9, 2012. Woot! Woot!

In January, I was also getting extremely excited about Creation Entertainment's Salute to Supernatural Convention in LA (also known as LACon) in February. Tinny and I were organising the final details for our trip. We were getting so close, I could smell Misha's cologne and I couldn't get the 'OMG-I-am-going-to-hug-Jensen-Ackles' smile off my face.

February 2011

This was the BEST month of my tiny little life. I was off to LA and New York. I was off to see Jensen & co, in LA! I haven't been able to shut up about it -- I touched Jensen Ackles!!

February 12-14 was the BEST weekend of my life. The experience was unbelievable, not only the cast was awesome, the organisers and the fans were a fantastic group of people. I also had the opportunity to meet new friends, who are some of the nicest people I've known in my life. Thank you once again for making my life brighter. I felt like my life was not the same ever since I came back, it was liberating! I embraced a new perspective and I intent to live a life that is fun and productive. Easy say than done.. I'm working on it!

My iPhone was Jensenated -- it was signed by Jensen, he laughed when I gave him my iPhone. My iPhone 3G has been officially inducted to the Tiny Hall of Fame. Thanks to Tinny for being so supportive and resourceful in finding the right box for it. By the way, it was also her idea to get the iPhone signed by Jensen.

The stage banner was the biggest pain in the ass, but in a good way. (Oh wait...that didn't come out right!) The banner was signed by all guests. That's 100 kinds of awesomes. I just need to find a place to hang it.

February 1 also marked the 2nd anniversary of The Impala's Trunk. As the 3rd anniversary approaching, perhaps I can bake a cake to celebrate.

March 2011

'Jensen Ackles' was the number one trending topic on Twitter on March 1 for a few good hours. It was his birthday in case you didn't realise. I remember I was about to go to bed and then it just happened. Supernatural fans are the best, if you don't know that already.

On the technology front, the iPad 2 was launched. I swear I couldn't wait to buy an iPad back in November 2010, I needed it for work and I needed it for the US trip. It was definitely one of the best purchases. Looks like my next iPad will be iPad 3 or 4. I still love my iPad 1 though.. It must be Jensenated before it retires.

April 2011

April is usually one of the most stressful months in my life, but no matter.. good things do happen. Supernatural season seven was given the green light in April. Not that we weren't expecting it to happen. In April, Supernatural, Jensen and Misha were named TV Guide Fan Favourites in the Sci-Fi Show, Actor, Non-Human categories respectively. Sorry Jared, you shall win Fan Favourite Hair next time.

In April, Smallville's Tom Welling and Erica Durance were on the cover of TV Guide. It was a perfect send-off for the show… I was totally ready to see the finale, in a good way of course. Who wouldn't want to see Clark finally take flight in man-in-tights...right?

As for the theatre, Thor took me by surprise in every sense of the word. It was probably one of the most enjoyable films in 2011. I hope Thor II will be as good!

May 2011

May 23 marked one year of anniversary of the Lost series finale and May 24 for the 24 series finale. Since both shows ended, I have been hoping to find some new shows to follow. With Smallville on its way out, I seriously need to find more shows to watch and to blog about.

After ten epic seasons of a show about the boy who was destined to be Superman, Smallville finally drew its curtains. The series finale was one of the best I've seen on TV. It was the perfect way to end the series. Fans should be happy to see such epic ending, I certainly was.

A few years ago, when I first started watching Smallville, I didn't think I'd like it at all, I didn't think I'd become a fan, I certainly didn't think I'd be so emotionally attached to it. It was such a great show. Tom Welling and Erica Durance are the Superman and Lois Lane of this generation.

My thoughts on the series finale and in general can be found here.

June 2011

June was relatively quiet. My sister and I went to Supernova, the pop culture convention in Sydney, it was not a total waste of time. My sister hasn't been to one of these before, so to help her avoiding a 'pop-cultural shock', I told her not to stare at people and freak or laugh. This event gives fans the opportunity to come out once a year to go nuts and be their own version of Spiderman, Superman, Batman, IronMan and Sailor Moon! Let them!

After Supernova, I realised I've seen seven Joss Whedon cast members in real life (including Joss himself) without even try. I am a nerd…without knowing it.

In June, fans welcome Jared (@jarpad) to Twitter. Finally! I think it's a good think and we know this was legit because he did during Nashcon. There are SO many fakers and haters out there. It's good to see Jared put his own stamp on his tweeting. He is awesome!

PS, Jensen is NOT on Twitter nor Facebook. Don't be fooled by those who claim they are Jensen.

JK Rowling also announced Pottermore, an online permanent home for all the Harry Potter contents including ebooks, audiobooks, and a lot of interactive goodies for fans.

July 2011

A lot happened in July, but noticeably the cast and producers of Supernatural were given an epic welcome to Hall H of ComicCon. Hall H was the biggest room at the San Diego Convention Centre, it has the capacity of up to 6,500 seats.

Jensen and Jared are now very confident on a live stage in front of thousands of screaming fans, they were a bit shy and not too lively in their first appearance on a stage like this a few years ago. If you've been to a Supernatural con, you'd experience the chemistry and energy, it's priceless. I got the same vibe from watching the clips from ComicCon. Like other panels could get a bit awkward, simply because the actors weren't expecting the scale and the madness from fans, but Supernatural and SG1 were probably one of the best and most fun.

2011 was also the year I declare my love for Ben Edlund and Jeremy Carver -- two of my favourite TV writers. Just throwing it out there again. They are my heroes. They inspire me to think and write creatively. Jeremy Carver was also the reason I got into Being Human (US). Being one of those who haven't seen the original UK version, I am really enjoying the show. I think he and Anna Fricke are doing a great job as the show runners and writers.

Speaking of my favourite writers, Eric Kripke was reported to be working on a movie Haunted. I haven't had much luck in finding out more information on this. I hope this is a go! I am dying to see more stuff from him!

Three movies that left me a great impression were Thor, Captain America and Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallow II. Captain America premiered in July, this also was one of the best films in 2011. You know you can't shut me up, I still think Jensen Ackles should have been the Capt, Chris Evans was good, but Jensen was still the fan's choice. When I was watching the movie, I couldn't help thinking what would Jensen look like in those tights?

Fans also said good bye to Harry Potter in July. I haven't watched a movie where I cried from the beginning to the end. It was exhausting! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow Part II was no doubt the best Harry Potter film since The Goblet of Fire in my opinion. JK Rowling is certainly one of the best writers, and the Harry Potter series will remind as one of the best, if not the best, book series I've read.

August 2011

Let the ducks swamp the Supernatural productive office… I too contributed to the DuckNation initiative. It was probably one of the craziest things I've done -- hunting for rubber ducks and Legos! Seriously! But I had so much fun… and I still have plenty of leftover Legos.

There wasn't a year went by without a couple of epic Supernatural rewatches. In August, we had the longest Supernatural rewatch ever on Twitter. We watched a total of six episodes, they were hand-picked by Jensen as some of his favourites according to the Official Supernatural Magazine.

I've previously watched Wicked the Musical three times in Sydney and Melbourne, but this was the one time I was dying to watch the show. In August, I flew to Perth to watch Wicked for the 4th time. I was so looking forward to it, I knew all the lyrics of my favourite songs. Defying Gravity and For Good were the most anticipated songs. The show and cast did not disappoint. I swear when I go to New York in 2012, I'll watch it again on Broadway! Still wishing to see Idina Menzel on stage though.

September 2011

Supernatural season seven premiered in September with Meet the New Boss. Cas's fans were concerned about the fate of the character. No worries, SPOILER ALERT, he is due to return in 2012.

It was reported that JJ Abrams and Eric Kripke were working on a new TV pilot together for NBC -- Revolution. Man! I really want to see this already!

In September, I also encountered some technology set backs -- Virgin Mobile sucks. They couldn't accommodate the Lion upgrade and their call centre was impotent. It was an epic fail that they didn't act quickly to respond to change. So backward! I eventually decided to leave Virgin Mobile after four years as a customer.

October 2011

Steve Jobs passed away on October 6th 2011. I was at work, and someone popped up from his workstation and told us the news. We spent the next hour or so online reading about the life and death of the greatest innovator of our generation. The world was never the same because of his vision. Let's hope Apple will continue to drive innovation.

My new iPhone 4S arrived and I was as happy as the one who invented trousers. It was like the best thing ever! Since I skipped 2.5 generations, I find the 4S was so much faster! Tinny also got her first iPhone. I have now converted 80% of my friends and family to switch to iPhone. I am not an Apple Snob I swear!

In October, Jared and Gen announced that they were expecting their first baby. Gen is due in 2012. So, that means, no piggybacking Gen, Jarpad!

October was also my birthday month…

November 2011

After months of searching for new TV shows to watch, I finally found A Game of Thrones. Thank goodness for that! I was so into it, I downloaded and watched the whole thing in probably in 3 days. By the time I hit the season finale, I have already downloaded the books (all of them) to my iPad. Epic! I am currently reading A Clash of Kings.

November also brought us one of the best Supernatural episodes this season. It was very sad, and I haven't talked about it for awhile because it was that sad. Death's Door was a brilliant episode focusing on the life and death of Bobby Singer. I still hope that he is not dead, but I don't know.. the more I think about it, the more I don't know what to think about it. But I guess time will tell.

December 2011

It's Xmas month!! I waited the whole year for it! I have been busy researching and baking with new recipes for cakes and cookies, getting my hair done, shopping for Xmas presses. I was so ready to go home to spend Xmas with family.

I've been baking like crazy; eating and drinking like there is no tomorrow; reading until my eyes popped out; rewatching some of my favourite TV series as planned; catching up with family and friends… I love December!

To end a year of awesomeness, my mum is now an iPhone user.

Looking ahead to the next 12 months

I am really looking forward to the Year of the Dragon. This is the year to shine.

I am really looking forward to all new episodes of Supernatural, Dean and Sam's story aside, I really want to know what will happen to Bobby; how will Castiel come back; and how the Leviathans will be destroyed? I am praying that the show will get its eighth season. That way I know I can make it to another convention. I am selfish I know! Wait for me Jensen!!

Gen and Jared will be new a Mum and Dad. Who knows if Jensen and Danneel will give us some baby news? Personal stuff aside, what I really want to see if for the boys to get a movie deal within the next 12-24 months.

I am already planning to go to New York again. While Nashcon is not happening for me, because they changed dates (and the new dates do not fit into my diary, which is kind of depressing!) I really need another trip in the US. I would love this to be a writing trip.

The Avengers is the most anticipated movie in 2012 on my list. Joss Whedon is one of the most worshipped directors of our generations. He is a fan, he knows his fan and he is an awesome creator and writer. I have no doubt Joss Whedon's The Avengers will be awesome!

One of the things I wanted to do is to expand The Impala's Trunk to a new realm, while I am keeping all the existing awesomes, I am going to canvass new experiential ideas. Hopefully I can align some of these ideas to my life as a writer.

So that's pretty much the last post for 2011 from The Impala's Trunk. Thank you very much once again for visiting and sharing your thoughts. I look forward to more blogging and sharing. Don't forget, you can also follow me on Twitter.

To wrap up, I quote the Overload Misha Collins: "Here's to redefining normal and possible in 2012." Cheers Cheers!

SPECIAL EDITION [PROJECT KARA-AMY-TINY] -- Supernatural Season Six Awards (Part 3)

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts... Thank you for reading and your support. We know you love us. Know this, we love you too.

Earlier this week, Kara, Amy and I posted part one and part two of our version of the Supernatural season six awards. So without further adieu, may we present the final installment of our Supernatural season six awards.

Best Confrontation

Kara: Bobby and Rufus in the episode And Then There Was None. That whole “I don’t forgive you for what you did and no. We can’t hug it out.” Rufus and Bobby were really enjoyable to watch in the episode, their unspoken grudge – for lack of a better term – was not only intreging but also entertaining.

Honourable mention: In the same episode And Then There Was None with Samuel and Bobby -- “And you must be the man pretending to be their father.” Awesome stuff.

Amy: Dean vs. Grandpa Campbell in Caged Heat. That moment through the cell door. Damn Dean. DAMN! Dean: “I’ll tell you who I am. I’m the guy you never wanna see again. ‘Cause I’ll make it out of here, trust me. And the next time you see me, I’ll be there to kill you.” I repeat. DAMN!

Tiny: Having said the above regarding my disappointment with Grandpa, I feel that he still made an impact this season. Dean and Grandpa have some of the best Winchester/ Campbell confrontations this seasons. I very much enjoyed their confrontation in Family Matters when Dean told Grandpa he should let Mary go and Grandpa said some harsh things to the boys like they didn't meant anything to him, he just wanted Mary back. I feel sorry for him. And I liked him in In the Beginning!

Biggest ‘I KNEW IT’ Moment

Kara: That Crowley died to easily. No ‘big bad’ or ‘King of Hell’ could die in the middle of the season without there being a catch 22. The catch was that he wasn’t really dead. Who knew?

Amy: That was the moment in The Man Who Would Be King when Cas told Sam he was the one who gripped him tight and raised him from perdition....so to speak. A few of us (including Tiny & Kara) had been spit-balling this concept for a while. Lots of people I flew it up the flagpole with were in denial! So when the truth was revealed, I just nodded with the righteous nod of someone feeling vindicated in my smarty-pantsness. I may have even yelled out I KNEW IT to no one in particular when I watched the episode.

Tiny: Crowley is not dead. As if they will let someone so good go, right? No, but his first death in Caged Heat was a bit too easy. I really screamed out loud I KNEW IT when I saw Crowley appeared in the diner at the end of Mommy Dearest.

Best Character Moment

Kara: Sam versing the other Sams. Normally I would probably look for a Dean one, and there were a tone of Dean character moments (one thing Supernatural does really well is character development) but when Sam makes the decision that he is going to deal with all the pain and all the memories and maybe even the risk that he will be a drooling mess watching reruns of Doctor Phil because his brother needs him and he needs his brother – man that was just powerful stuff. Even more so when you think about Sam’s heaven in ‘The other side of the moon’.

Amy: In The Man Who Knew Too Much, I loved how Dean wouldn’t leave Sam’s side when his brother was comatose in the panic room. He sat by Sam’s bed just willing him to pull through. He believed Sam was so strong he would overcome what Cas had done to him by pulling down the wall in his mind. He had so much faith that his brother would wake up, that he left a gun and a note on Sam’s pillow to tell him where to meet him once he finally came to. I loved that moment. It was pure Dean. It was pure Winchester brother love. Even in the darkest times that bond he has with Sam remains all-important. “This is where we’re going to be Sam. You can get your lazy ass outta bed and come and meet us. Sammy please.” Perfect Dean moment. *Sigh*

Honourable mention: In The Man That Knew Too Much when Sam said “I'm not leaving my brother alone out there” when he was facing the Sam that remembered Hell. Love that Sam moment.

Tiny: It's hard just to depict one moment. Castiel had caused some disruptions this season. A lot of things happened off camera and based on what we saw from The Man Who Would Be King onwards, there were a lot of character moments of Castiel. I am glad we saw The Man Who Would Be King first before we got into the final details of Castiel's screw up. It's obvious that the writers wanted us to feel sorry for Castiel, they didn't want us to hate him; they wanted us to understand why he did what he did; and they wanted us to see his confusion and frustration. Whatever the writers' intention was, I feel for Castiel. This episode was jam-packed with stuff about his character and what he really made of deep down. I wish he didn't leave Dean's backyard and went with Crowley in The Man Who Would Be King. I hope season seven will be about Castiel's redemption. Like many fans, I too want to see the 'old' Cas back.

Favourite Sam and Dean Moment

Kara: My favourite Sam and Dean moment didn’t actually happen between them but more about them in The Man Who Knew Too Much. When Sam confronted Hell Sam and told him that he needed to remember everything that happened to him in hell because Dean needed him. Then cut to Dean leaving Sammy with the address and a gun, kind of knowing that Sam is strong and will be able to fight whatever is in his head so he can wake up and fight alongside him.

Honourable mention: When Sam gets his soul back and they get all huggy.

Amy: I’m tempted to say the hug in Like A Virgin, because that was one awesome hug, but I think it was in The French Mistake, when Dean was saying to his brother that maybe Sam’s life was better in the alternative universe and Sam replied, “No, you know, you were right. We just don't mean the same thing here. I mean, we're not even brothers here, man.” Perfect answer Sam and great bro moment. It was around this time that I started to feel that finally, Dean means as much to Sam as Sam means to Dean.

Honourable mention: When the brothers get separated by the door in And Then There Were None and they started calling out each other’s name in desperation. It’d been a while since we’d seen them caring for each other as much as they do in that moment and for the remainder of season six. It was about time and it felt good.

Tiny: All seriousness aside, without the blood and gore, the monsters and the demons scary stuff, Supernatural is a comedy! Last year I singled out the ending of Point of No Return, this year I am going a bit left field by naming the following scene as my favourite Sam and Dean moment -- when Dean and Sam tried to act in The French Mistakes. I mean, Sam and Dean would suck as actors, but not Jared and Jensen!

Favourite Comedic Moment in an Episode

Kara: When Balthazar tried to kill Fate. Seriously just thinking over that moment now while writing this makes me laugh. There have been heaps of moments but to me that’s just my fave.

Amy: Look, it’s probably the whole bad acting scene in The French Mistake. I can’t get through that without just laughing so hard. But that’s probably because of my love for Jared and Jensen and knowing it’s them. I usually only see Sam and Dean, but in that scene I see Jared and Jensen, so having said that, maybe it was the Dean in the serape moment in Frontierland. The whole thing from when he bought it to when he threw it on the ground in massive disappointment! Bless.

Tiny: OMG Misha's been stabbed to death! Where? WHERE?

Honourable mention: When Dean almost had an Excalibur moment. Dean's expression and the soundtrack made that scene so hilarious!

Biggest Unanswered Question

Kara: I am going to go all the way back to the very first episode of season six to answer this question. While Dean is all roofied on Jinn juice, he sees Yellow Eyes and Yellow Eyes says something to the degree of ‘You know whats going to happen with Ben (but I am presuming all the ‘special children’) and you can’t admit it to yourself.’ Maybe it was just a throwaway line but I don’t care. The new breed of special children has been a HUGE unanswered plot point since season one.

Amy: I wasn’t left with too many unanswered question at the end of season six, because they did a pretty good job of wrapping it all up in the final three episodes of the season, but I’d seriously love to know what the hell Dean’s Alpha-vamp induced dream was all about. I dissected that thinking it must have significance, but alas apparently not! Actually my question is probably for the writers, what was the point of The Campbells?

Tiny: Am I ever going to be on the show? Oh wait.. no…. Is the Impala the true vessel of God? No, seriously.. I think most questions were answered by the end of season six. Except one and it's personal: what's with the twins in Dean's dream? It probably means nothing, but it's haunting me. Supernatural never threw something in the air and not follow through it. So I was really hoping for an answer. Just give me something! Anything!

Best Moment in Season Six

Kara: I loved at the end of And Then There Were None when Dean said to Bobby and Sam “We are family and if you do anything don’t worry I forgive you. I don’t want to die and you feeling any regrets or that I am still holding onto a grudge.” The shame about that it wont carry onto the whole Cas situation.

Amy: Tough one. Let’s see.... Would it be cliché to say the moment Dean pulled the tarp off the Impala at the end of Two And A Half Man? I think because of Exile On Main Street (which I love by the way), we were all a little squiggly about where season six was going in relation to Dean. Dean seemed, well, not all that Deanish. Then....... ba ba barrrr ba ba ba barrrr ba ba barrrrr ba barrrrr whoosh, tarp comes off and Dean is back. It was pure porn and I’m still trying to figure out if I’ve ever seen anything sexier than that. IT.WAS.HOT.

Tiny: 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions' is one of the recurring themes in Supernatural. Cas caused some major disruptions this year, we've seen his lies, his secret, his confusion and his inner struggle. But Dean, Sam and Bobby didn't know any of this until Cas accidentally quoted Bobby's conversation with the brothers in The Man Who Would Be King: "They are dealing with a Superman who's gone dark side". Everything came to a halt and everything was going to explode! I gasped when I watched this scene. I just think that this scene has so much stuff in it. Don't get me wrong, I don't love to see Cas go bad, I know some fans don't like it, but I like it because I like the complicity added to a character and I want to see how his friends deal with his new status as a god. I mentioned it previously that saving people isn't just about saving them from physically pain, it's also about saving people from their own darkness. I love that about Supernatural. Will friendship prevail? Will Cas be saved by his friends? I have faith in Cas, I think he will gain redemption one day.

Best Episode

Kara: And Then There Were None. This episode is one of the strongest episodes of the season. While season six did end very strong And Then There Were None built up that claustrophobic feel that was very captivating. It also allowed gave a new shade to Bobby’s character that we normally think can do no wrong.

Amy: I’m going to say The Man Who Would Be King. It was a lovely hour of television. Beautifully constructed, written, directed, acted. It was terribly heart breaking. There were wonderful character moments, smart dialogue, really cool ideas, I mean; Hell is an eternal queue with lift music! Brilliant and there’s brilliance at every turn. It’s an excellent example of what makes Supernatural great. It’s pretty close to being perfect.

Tiny: The Man Who Would Be King is my favourite episode in season six. I love the narrative style, which is something we haven't seen before in Supernatural. I love Ben Edlund's writing. I love his directing. I love the cast performance. This is the best written episode in my opinion.

So there you have it! I hope you've enjoyed reading our thoughts on season six. A personal thank you to Kara and Amy, who are so much fun to work with. Thank you for the caring and sharing. It was certainly a great way to wrap up our feelings for season six.

I hope you are all surviving the hellatus. Season seven... BRING IT!

This is a collaboration project with Kara and Amy.

Announcing The Impala's Glove Box

Last year, something happened.. and I've decided to write my first fanfic. I did. But I didn't post it anywhere. Only one person in the entire universe had read it.

Today, or last week rather, I have decided to post my first fanfic on the newly created The Impala's Glove Box -- the brother-site of The Impala's Trunk. So, from now on, if and when I finish writing a fanfic (likely to be Supernatural related), I'll post them on the Glove Box. I know there are heaps of sites for this sort of stuff, but I have low self esteem... and I am naturally lazy.

Watch this space... I LOST MY SHOE -- The Sam Winchester Story is coming to you sooner than you think!

An extract (chapter one):

"......... As Sam approached the Rabbit, a sharp dagger suddenly flew pass him. It missed Sam but it went through his jacket’s sleeve pinning him to the tree. Sam looked across the field to the party where the crowd was gathered. The young stunning girl caught Sam’s attention. She gave him the death stare. The minds of two enemies were oddly connected as their eyes met. Everything came to a halt. Trees whispered softly in the wind. Falling autumn leaves blowing in the breeze in slow-motion.

Their eyes fixed on each other intensely. Sam did not take his eyes off the girl as he pulled the dagger off the tree, freeing his left arm. The girl was being congratulating by her relatives and friends, but they meant nothing to her. She too did not take her eyes off Sam. Sam made a slight movement with his upper body, suggesting a ‘ready to sprint’ gesture. The girl, without causing attention from the party people, lifted up her dress slightly and took off her heels, she was ready to run.

On their mark. Get. Set. Go. ..........."

Please be kind... this is my first.

SPECIAL EDITION [PROJECT KARA-AMY-TINY] -- Supernatural Season Six Awards (Part 2)

Happy Friday..

Earlier this week, Kara, Amy and I posted part one of our version of the Supernatural season six awards. So without further adieu, may we present part two our Supernatural season six awards.

Most Heart Breaking Moment

Kara: My Heart Will Go On. When they didn’t want to rewrite (or correct) history because it would mean Ellen and Jo would die. And Bobby saying “We need ya, especially me.” Man moving stuff.

Honourable mention: Cas praying to God asking him to give him a sign on if he should stop this would soul eating mission – to no reply.

Amy: So many heartbreaks in season six.....I say that like it’s unusual! Ok, most heartbreaking for me was the moment Dean realises Cas is lying in The Man Who Would Be King. It was heartbreaking all around. Dean’s face froze ever so subtly. It reminded me of that moment in The Simpsons where Lisa broke Ralph’s heart and Bart has it on slomo and say’s look you can see the exact moment his heart breaks. With Dean, you could see the exact moment his heart broke. The light just left his eyes. He believed in his friend and defended him and it turned out to be a lie, to be a betrayal I also felt sad for Cas in that moment, he felt all clever getting the joke...that whole scene. Heart breaking.

Tiny: This award goes to my man Dean Winchester -- when he said goodbye to Lisa and Ben in Let it Bleed. This is my pouty face moment. How awesome is Jensen Ackles? His range is so good. He can play funny, he can play sad. When he is funny, he makes you laugh so hard. But when he plays sad Dean, I need my tissues and I need a hug. I am sure he does too. I like how this Lisa and Ben arc is wrapped. We all know Dean deserves a better life, but it's just not meant to be. The harder he tries to maintain the balance of having a hunting life and an apple pie life, the harder it gets. The more he holds on to something that don't belong to him, the hard it is to say goodbye.

Best Death

Kara: Crowley. Ok yes I know he didn’t die, but for a good chunk of the season we did think he was dead. When he just burst into flames it was just so cool and so sudden. Did his return cheapen his death? No. Because his ‘death’ was still freaking damn good times, in one of the best episodes of the season.

Amy: The Charger! That was a pretty good death right there. Crushed by a falling Angel. None of the deaths in season six really broke my heart, like say, Jo and Ellen or Gabe or Zach. Maybe if we say Castiel is essentially dead? But I think I’ll stick with The Charger. That was awesome.

Honourable mention: Balthazar. Not that I think he died for the cause intentionally, but he was covering for the boys, so that was a good death.

Tiny: This is more like 'Sad Death'. Last year we looked this category as the 'take one for the team' death. Season six didn't have a death that was equivalent to the Ellen and Jo death. But I'll give this award to Balthazar. Balthazar has quickly become one of the most loved characters on the show. Sebastian Roché is a fan favourite, we love him at conventions and we love him on Twitter. Balthazar's time on Supernatural was ended a bit too soon.

Coolest Death

Kara: Raphael. I am sorry but if you turn into a bloodied water balloon then yes your death is cool. Such a cool death for such a boring character.

Amy: I liked Grandpa Samuel getting popped in the head in And The There Were None. Yay! I like how it happened. Stop moving forward, stop talking I said stop...BOOM! HEADSHOT! Totally dug it. Good one Sammy. I thought, oh no he’s going to angst over this, but thankfully he didn’t. The SOB deserved it! I do kind of wish it was Dean who popped him though. I kind of wished when he said “Welcome to next time,” it was followed by a bullet firing out of his pretty Colt 1911 into that bastard Samuel’s frontal lobe. But hey, Sam did good.

Tiny: There is a winner of this category because my hero Dean Winchester is awesome. Coolest Death goes to Mother. He is such a smarty pant with his "One shell of Phoenix ash, one ounce of Whiskey." Adiós BITCH! I love how Mother died in Mommy Dearest and I am glad she died. I can't say I am a big fan of the Mother story arc, so I am glad it was resolved the way it did. Move away Mother of all because Crowley is back in business, and I am sure he is looking for a new tailor. I am not ready to see Mark Sheppard leaving the show.

Best Fight

Kara: Cas vs Demons in The Man Who Would be King. Seeing Cas kick butt in any episode is always fun (seeing how many fights he used to lose).

Amy: We didn’t really see it as such, but that whole Dean versus a nest of vampires in Live Free Or Twihard was HOT! It’s really the aftermath of the fight that I love. Sam and Samuel walking in and seeing decapitated bodies strewn all over and Dean with his foot on the lead vamp’s separated head. “You ok Dean?” “Yeah I’m good.” Yeah you’re good all right. You’re freakin’ smokin’ hot Dean, with the covered in blood and the big knife and the adlkfjhaldkfhjalskajdflkajsbdkajdhf! Love.

Tiny: Does the high noon shootout in Frontierland consider as 'Best Fight'? Yeah.. that!

Favourite Villain

Kara: Obscure time. My favourite villain is the one the only Phoenix. Now I find it hard to place him in being a villain especially when it compared to Eve, Crowley and even maybe Castiel (although I still refuse to call him a villain just because come on he is Cas). Anyway the Phoenix isn’t really a villain in the traditional sense when it comes to these awards but also not even in the traditional sense of a villain. It’s more of the fact I enjoyed the mythology of the Phoenix and the interaction with the boys. It is a shame that the Phoenix won’t be making a return.

Amy: Soulless Sam. I was going to say Crowley, because he’s awesome, but my favourite bad guy was really Soulless Sam. I particularly loved him when he came clean and embraced his soullessness. “Don’t dump your wackadoo all over us, we’d rather not step in it.” Apart from the moments when he was really rather funny, he was just a great big selfish tool. He was awful, but in that good way. He watched Dean get turned into a vampire, he lied through his teeth, he tried to kill Bobby, he did some very dubious things that we only really got a glimpse of. He was just horrible and for the most part, I really enjoyed him.

Tiny: Crowley is a villain I love to love. Crowley is so much fun to watch because of Mark Sheppard. Crowley was a demon who tried to survive and to become the King of Hell. Crowley was different from YED or Alastair or Lillith who only followed orders from Lucifer. When he paired up with Castiel, his story became much more interesting. Crowley was disturbingly funny, he was just so much fun to watch. I hope the Castiel-Crowley story arc will continue in an epic fashion in season seven.

Favourite Good Guy

Kara: Balthazar. Ok it can be questionable on if he really is a good guy, but he did come through at the end. So yes that wise cracking angel was my fave good guy. Shame he had to die. SPOILER!

Amy: Can I say Dean? Probably not, so I will say Death. He’s kind of a good guy. I mean, he helped Dean fix Sam and he brought him cheap food and a beer! I sort of see him as a good guy in the scheme of things. He just wants everyone to do what is right, what they’re supposed to do. Maybe he did what he did for selfish reasons but, I feel like he’s good, maybe not in the traditional sense of the word, but he does what he thinks is right in his universe.

Tiny: Samuel Colt. I love him, I love the myth of the Colt ever since season one. I wasn't disappointed with his appearance in Frontierland. I wish there is a spin-off series about the old west and Samuel Colt.

Favourite Guest Star

Kara: Samantha Ferris. I love Ellen and I loved her in that episode.

Amy: Robert Englund in Appointment In Samarra. Essentially it was a cameo, but me and Freddy Kruger, we go way back. I was beyond excited that he was going to be in Supernatural and I really enjoyed every second he was on screen. He was actually super sweet was Dr Robert! I love Freddy. Coolest guest star ever.

Tiny: Sam Hennings aka Samuel Colt. I went all fangirlie when I heard he was appearing on the show. You have no idea how much I love the Colt and how much I wanted the Colt to be so much more than it already was. I want to see Samuel Colt to return in season seven. I know it's highly unlikely but yeah.. I really want to see him again. I want to know where he went and why he went into hiding. I want a complete profile on this guy -- CTU style!

Most Under Used Character

Kara: I am going to be controversial here. Samuel Campbell. Now hear me out. Samuel isn’t so much under-used as in used incorrectly. They could have/should have used him as a John like of character instead of pretty much straight away making the audience think that he is creepy and weird. They should have had him go to Dean and say ‘That Sam your brother he seems a bit weird almost as if you know he is missing a soul or something.’ Or maybe more comments like ‘Oh shape shifter first thing your mum ever killed’ make us have a connection with him instead of pretty much saying from the start ‘Yeah he is going to die soon so don’t worry’.

Amy: I’m saying characters plural because it’s the whole Campbell family. Look, straight up, I don’t need the Winchester brothers to have any family other than themselves, Bobby & Cas, but I thought the introduction of the Campbells was going to be interesting. I thought we’d find out more about the family history. I thought they’d be....important. Yeah, I guess when they all got unceremoniously dispatched, I had got to the point where I didn’t give a damn, but I feel like the Campbells was an opportunity lost. In the end, they seemed pointless.

Honourable mention: Samuel Colt. I would have liked to see more of him being a bit more Samuel Colt like. I hope he comes to the future or something one day.

Tiny: Celine Dion.. oh wait what… No, it's Death. I know this is a bit of a stretch but I think Death is a bit under-used. I would've love to see him may be one or two episodes more, especially after what he said to Dean at the end of Appointment in Samarra, I was expecting him to appear again to reveal something or at least bring Dean his pie. I think next season should have a Death-centric episode called Guess Who Is Coming For Dinner?

Biggest WTF Moment

Kara: Little Cassy being all like ‘Lets eat souls be God.’ You are Cas. You are the good loveable idiot. The man who can come and save the day, although, Cas if you are reading I will kiss your feet and bring you green tea.

Honourable mention: Soulless Sammy?

Dishonourable mention: Fairies and Dragons. Sigh.

Amy: Straight up I went to say the cliff-hanger with Cas becoming some kind of uber powerful hell bent on world domination delusional God like being, but then I remembered the moment that really made me go OH.MY.GOD and that was seeing Sam watch Dean get turned into a vampire in Live Free Or Twihard. We knew there was something wrong, that he was empty or broken, but in that moment we really saw that Sam was gone. That moment still shocks me even now. It was so cold with the smirk and all. To see Sam allow Dean to get hurt like that, man, that was a shocker.

Tiny: When Sam smirked as Dean was attacked by a vampire. Seriously, I threw my pillow at the TV. Sam WTF!!! WTF!!!!!

Honourable mention: Castiel being a new god. That was a bold move from the writers!

In the final installment of our Supernatural season six awards, we'll share with you our choice for 'Favourite Sam and Dean Moment', 'Favourite Comedic Moment' and 'Best Episode'. Watch this space!!!

A big thank you and hugs and kisses to Kara and Amy for being some awesome.

SPECIAL EDITION [PROJECT KARA-AMY-TINY] -- Supernatural Season Six Awards (Part 1)

Cue the music -- preferably Carry On Wayward Son.

Last year, I teamed up with Kara to present our version of the Supernatural season five awards. This year, we are thrilled to have Amy joining us for another special collaboration project.

So without further adieu, may we present Project Kara-Amy-Tiny -- aka our version of the Supernatural season six awards (part 1 of 3).

Favourite Filler

Kara: I found it really, really, hard to work out what a good filler was in this season. A season where on first watching it seemed like more fillers than mythos episodes, however even with the underlining issue about the heavens weapons seemed more like a plot device for this episode, hence why calling it a filler. Anyway the winner of the first award is, The French Mistake. The French Mistake was just a fun episode and allowed some humour before entering the deep dark world of walls breaking and angels becoming Gods and really everyone dying, even those who had already died – I am looking at you Ellen.

Amy: I always struggle with what constitutes a filler episode, because nearly all episodes in some way point to the over-arching mythology. Also, there were a few episodes in season six that probably do fall into the filler category that were excellent. But, I know I’ve got to pick one, so I’m going to pick Weekend At Bobby’s. Pretty sure this is a filler. I just loved getting a peak into Bobby’s life. I loved the interaction between Bobby and Rufus. I loved the interaction between Bobby and Crowley and that Bobby outsmarted that smartass demon! It’s a fun script by Dabb & Loflin with lots of great one-liners. The characters were beautifully represented and of course, this is the episode Jensen directed. So if this is considered filler, Weekend at Bobby’s is my favourite.

Honourable mentions: Clap Your Hands If You Believe, Live Free Or Twihard, Frontierland (if indeed any of these are actually fillers).

Tiny: I love a good filler that is fun and not too intense. My favourite filler in season six is Weekend at Bobby's. Jim Beaver is one of my favourite actors, I just love me some Bobby centric episode. Dean and Sam have taken Bobby for granted and I like how this was addressed in the episode. I love the 'behind the scene' tour of Bobby's daily life. I love how details were embedded into the episode highlighting Bobby's dedication, selflessness and awesomeness. I like his 'Help me for once' speech the most. Bobby would do anything for the boys, he had been through some really tough times recently when he was in the wheelchair. So, to me, the 'Help me for once' speech was an indication of Bobby's attitude of life -- that he wasn't going to let Crowley walk all over him and he had every intention to live. This episode was directly by Jensen Ackles who did a fabulous job. Bravo! I cannot wait to watch the DVD featurette of this episode and I cannot wait to see Jensen's second directorial effort in season seven.

Least Favourite Filler

Kara: This was really hard one. Because to me what is the difference between least favourite filler and least favourite episode when they both suck? So it then comes down to which one I dreaded the most when rewatching and that would be my least favourite episode and the other would be my least favourite filler. ANYWHO Kara’s Least Favourite episode goes to, drum roll please, Mannequin 3: The Rise of the Craptastic episode. Blah! Such a weak pathetic episode and how the hell did the sister end up dead? And the ‘comedy’ of the creep having a doll as a girlfriend. And don’t even get me started on the whole Parent Trap section of the episode. Please. No. Never again.

Amy: Oh so easy… Mannequin 3: The Reckoning. I disliked this episode intensely on first watch. Even more than season four’s Criss Angel is a Douchebag! I hated it less on rewatch....but not by much. It’s probably taken the mantel off Criss Angel as my least favourite Supernatural episode ever. It was messy. A poorly constructed script and a loosely directed episode. The humour was shoehorned in and everything felt forced. That whole scene with Lisa, the random door closing montage, the Metallicar gone wild moment. YUCK. The thing is, the haunted kidney concept was actually kind of cool. That’s a neat idea, because really, what would you do about that? So I think the idea was there, it was just poorly executed. The only scene that worked was the scene between Dean and Ben...except, does Dean really need more guilt put on him? Justsayin’.

Tiny: Mannequin 3: The Reckoning had a very uncharacteristic montage in the history of Supernatural. The Lisa-opening-door montage was lame. I didn't think the style or editing or the soundtrack was Dean-y. The story was forgettable, the kidney thing was meh. Having said that, this episode has its moments, referencing the Impala as a sex doll was kinda awesome.

Favourite Episode

Kara: The Man Who Would Be King. I like Cas centric episodes and I liked how this episode had a different story telling method. I enjoyed the whole Demon version of Bobby, the whole dark side of Cas.

Amy: Hmmmmm...tricky to pick a personal favourite. I think I’ll go with Frontierland. I really enjoyed this episode. Dean was having such a good time. It’s not often we see Dean really happy. I like happy Dean. It was another awesome script from Dabb & Loflin with plenty of humour (mostly at Dean’s expense) but also some solid character exploration. It revealed more of the whole Cas is lying through his teeth thing, we saw Lenore again and we actually got to meet Samuel Colt. It was one of those, how does Supernatural keep knocking episodes like this out of the park moments. Plus it had an all shades of gray bad guy that you sort of feel sorry for and Dean in a very hot cowboy outfit....what’s not to love there.

Honourable mention: Appointment in Samarra.

Tiny: Season six took risks, more so than ever. I like it when writers think outside the square especially with genre shows, because as a fan I expect innovative refreshing ideas that challenge my viewing habit and I like to see a long-running show like Supernatural to keep reinventing itself. They were some really outstanding and memorable episodes this season -- the time-travel cowboy episode Frontierland; the first person narration story-telling style in The Man Who Would Be King; and the super-meta episode The French Mistakes. I love these episodes very much.

Least Favourite Episode

Kara: Clap Your Hands If You Believe. There are certain lines I thought Supernatural would never cross, having fairies in an episode is one of them. I could have handled it if it was like a Trickster episode where the fairies aren’t real and just some illusion. But come on! Seriously? Fairies. Blah. As Sookie says in True Blood “Fairies *bleeping* how lame.”

Amy: Yeah, Mannequin 3: The Reckoning again, for all the reasons stated earlier.

Dishonourable mention: All Dogs Got To Heaven.

Tiny: Let me reiterate. To me, there is no such thing as a horrible or unwatchable Supernatural episode. Even Bugs has its moment. The reason I picked Family Matters was because of my disappointment in the character of Grandpa Samuel, and not because of the writing or casting or performance. As long time readers of my blog, you'd know I am a huge fan of the family episodes such as Home, In the Beginning and The Song Reminds the Same. I love it when the Winchesters are in the same episode, in the same scene. So, when I heard about Grandpa was joining the show, I was so excited. My expectation was so high, it fell hard and flat. Family Matters was a great episode, again don't get me wrong, I was just disappointed with Samuel Campbell because he was weak and not inspiring. This episode reminded me of how much I wanted the Mary-John family vibe (the Winchester family vibe) and I wasn't getting it and I never will. Agh!

Favourite Writer

Kara: Sera Gamble. She wrote Appointment in Samarra and Let It Bleed this season, need I say more?

Amy: Ben Edlund is always going to be my favourite writer. Clap Your Hands If You Believe, The French Mistake but in particular, The Man Who Would Be King are all awesome. The thing I love about Edlund is he can write the ridiculous but he can also write the heavy emotional moments that rip your heart out, like the many moments in TMWWBK. It was torturous.

Honourable mention: Dabb & Loflin. I love these two for their witty scripts, awesome character representation and really cool pop culture references.

Tiny: Unquestionably, without a doubt, hands down -- Ben Edlund. I love him. I want to write like Ben. The thing I love about Ben is how weird his ideas are -- fairies, suicidal teddy bear, killing the crew and cast in a super-meta episode and the reality show approach of Ghostfacers. He is more weird than Eric Kripke! There are so many reasons for me to love Ben. Seriously! If Supernatural is going to do a musical episode, I want Ben to write it.

Favourite Director

Kara: The only director that has had 100% total of awesome episodes... well episode. Jensen Ackles.

Dishonourable mentions: Philip Sgriccia. (I should say I did however enjoy My Heart Will Go On) but the OVER use of the flashbacks in Exile made me a hater. A show like Supernatural should presume, when you have six seasons, that your audience will know who the fudge Samuel is. We don’t need a jarring flashback that takes you from the episode. Flashbacks work like the montage in Swan Song, not just randomly.

Amy: Can I haz more than one? I feel like I need to say Jensen, because he’s my favourite everything and he did a lovely job with Weekend At Bobby’s. But really, I was blown away by Ben Edlund’s turn with The Man Who Would Be King. For the cast to bring home such amazing emotional performances shows a real trust in the director and his vision. Then there’s Phil Sgriccia and the wonderful camera angles he used in Like A Virgin, including the Impala interior, which was actually a moving shot, not done ‘poor man’s process’ but with the car really going down the road. That gave a wonderful intimacy to that moment with the brothers and made the scene feel real and gritty. Also there were some interesting shots with Bobby cooking. I like that Phil was trying new stuff. On a personal level of course, there’s Guy Bee who seems to be one of the nicest men on the face of the earth and a really good director. So I guess, bottom-line, I can’t choose just one.

Tiny: Again, unquestionably, without a doubt, hands down -- Ben Edlund. His directorial job in The Man Who Would Be King was outstanding. Ben had fantastic materials to work with.. oh wait.. he wrote the episode!

Honourable mention: It was an awesome directorial debut from Jensen Ackles. Kim Manners would be proud. Kick it in the ass!

Best Use of Song

Kara: The Gambler. The lyrics connect so well with Bobby -- "You just gotta know when to hold them."

Dishonourable mention: Smoke on the Water. I love that song and would be used so well in Supernatural HOWEVER it was edited weirdly in Two and a Half Men.

Amy: Ok, this is going to sound random, but for me it was, A New Day Yesterday by Jethro Tull. It was playing on the Impala radio in the episode Like a Virgin. That whole scene in the Impala is near perfect and something about that song just sets it off. Also, I like that essentially it’s incidental music, but it really adds to the overall natural feel of that scene, how it’s shot, the brother’s conversation. I just love it and I love how Dean turns the song up when he’s finished sharing. I downloaded that track straight away and now it’s a favourite. It’s awesome use of music.

Very honourable mentions: The Gambler in Weekend At Bobby’s, A Space Oddity in Clap Your Hands If You Believe and Play With Fire in The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Tiny: Never did I imagine that I would be saying this, but I love Kenny Rogers' The Gambler. I just love the use of song in Weekend at Bobby's. I love Bobby, not Kenny Rogers!! I also love the use of song in Exile On Main Street, Bob Seger's Beautiful Loser was a perfect song to sum up Dean's life as a soccer dad. I still prefer Dean as a hunter (who doesn't, right?), so this song comes second on the list.

Best Quote

Kara: “Welcome to next time.” Oh hells to the yeah Dean!

Amy: How can you ever choose a best quote from Supernatural. The show is filled with amazing dialogue. Snappy, witty comebacks all over the place, but if I must choose, I’m going to choose something that, once again, may seem random, but it is from Family Matters, when Dean walks in and sees Christian and says “Hello Newman.” I swear I nearly fell off my chair with the laughing. It may be because of my Seinfeld leanings, I don’t know, but Hello Newman? Man that was just pure gold.

Honourable mention: Dean’s whole posse magnet thing in Frontierland. Joy. Or maybe, “I’d rather ask forgiveness than permission” – Crowley in Let It Bleed, because I kind of want to live by that quote!

Tiny: Even in a horrible situation, Dean Winchester can still come up with something funny to say, "Jefferson Starships…because they're horrible and hard to kill."

Next up... 'Most Heart Breaking Moment', 'Favourite Villain', and 'Biggest WTF Moment' plus more in the next edition of Supernatural season six awards...

A big thank you and hugs and kisses to Kara and Amy for being some awesome.

Watching the Queensland flood crisis is really sad and it's heart breaking. Brisbane river is already rising and residents are bracing for the big hit which is expected to be due tomorrow morning.

If you want to help, you can go to the

SPECIAL EDITION PROJECT KARA-TINY: Supernatural season five awards

Yours Tiny have teamed up with Kara this week for this special edition to celebrate another fabulous season of Supernatural. Cue Carry on Wayward Son and enjoy this!

Best Filler

Kara: While I may have defended this episode saying it wasn’t a complete filler, but for the sakes of this award I am claiming it is. Best Filler is Body Swap. I know it isn’t the most conventional of choices as a lot of people would think. But I found myself laughing and having a strong reaction towards the episode. I loved the whole Demons contacting Witches and goth kids saying ‘Hey, do us a solid and kill Dean Winchester’. I just enjoyed this episode from start to finish.

Tiny: This season I actually find it really hard to define what a filler is. When it comes to a 'legit' filler on Supernatural, I think of Dead in the Water or Bugs or Nightshifter or Ghost-Facers. Many episodes in season five appeared to be fillers but I don't think there were fillers. Anyway, to me the best filler this season is Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. Although the episode introduced the Death and Bobby story arc, but this is very close to being a 'legit' filler in my book. Best of all, I love a good Bobby centric episode, I love some good zombie action.

Worst Filler

Kara: 99 Problems. Which I know isn’t a real outstanding episode to say ‘worst filler’ but I decided worst filler and least favourite episode have to be two different episodes. Anyway, 99 Problems fell short, it idea was promising, but, unfortunately everything else just was a steamy pile of crap. Maybe it has something to do with the ‘let’s throw Lisa in here although we haven’t mentioned her for about three seasons’. An episode shouldn’t rely on Castiel to show up before it can start getting good, and even then it the only good bits were when Castiel was on screen.

However very, very, VERY dishonorable mention, Hammer of the Gods – I don’t need a reasoning, you have seen the episode right?

Tiny: Definitely Fall Idols. But seeing Paris Hilton's head got chopped off made the episode! Having said that, this episode has one of my favourite Dean's lines: Is that Ghandi? This is also one of my favourite hashtags on Twitter!

Favourite Episode

Kara: Personal favourite episode has to be a tie between Changing Channels and I believe the Children are our Future. Granted they are both comedic episode but they both also have a very 'Monster at the end of this book' feel to it. I refuse to think that Children is a filler as I don’t believe any episode that has the Little AntiChrist. Both of the two episodes were just fantastic, they managed to balance a mythos story line, comedy and character development. Plus how can you pass Herpexia and a hairy hand. What else can I say?

Tiny: The End. I am deeply, truly, madly in love with this episode! This is the kind of episode I love to see on the show. I really love the writing, the character stuff, the production and the execution. I love the Terminator-John-Connor element. I love the setting of the story. I love the double Dean action. Jensen Ackles gave an award-winning performance. The episode was perfect to me.

Honorable mention: Changing Channels, Abandon All Hope and The Song Remains the Same.

Least Favourite Episode

Kara: A lot of people would presume that I would say Fallen Idols but I am sorry its The Real Ghost Busters I hated it. Hate it. Hate it. HATE IT! It fell short, and it wasn’t funny at all. While there were call backs to the previous seasons it wasn’t anywhere near as good as Monster and if you do an episode like this , it should be at least in the same it to be compared to one of the best episodes in Supernatural History that dealt with much the same content. This episode also had the feel of “Let’s make a convention like episode – oh shit forgot I that this episode has no relevance to our overall story line so let’s throw in this thing about the Colt.”

Tiny: If you read my blog previously, you'd know I had issues with Dark Side of The Moon. I just think that Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin had good materials to work on but the writing wasn't top notch and the character stuff wasn't well executed. May be I am a bit harsh here, but this episode was hard to digest.

Best Use of Song

Kara: Two words... CHERRY PIE!

Tiny: Having said that about Dark Side of the Moon, when Knockin' On Heaven's Door was played in the Dean/ young Sammy fireworks scene, it brought tears to my eyes.

Honorable mention: Cherry Pie in The Song Remains the Same. DEAN DEAN DEAN! You one naughty son of a pie!

Best Quote

Kara: “I just looked her in the eyes and told her that it wasn’t her fault her father left, he just hated his job at the post office.” Castiel.

Tiny: As much as I love all the Dean ones, I am going to give this award to my favourite angel Castiel. And I have a few!! God is not on any flat bread; The voice says I am almost out of minute; I don't understand, why do you want me to say my name; Hey ass-butt!

Most Heart Breaking Moment

Kara: While I do want to say Bobby confessing how he wanted to kill himself, it would have to be the iconic scene of Dean dropping the amulet in the bin. This kind of reminds me of the ‘coffee drop’ scene of season two.

Tiny: In The Song Remains the Same, when Dean revealed to Mary he was her son. Why was it heart-breaking? Mary's deal with YED set things in motion (arguably). It was heart-breaking to see young Mary finding out what happened to her kids. Not only Dean and Sam never had the chance to live a normal apple pie life, their lives just got worst and worst. Mary had the will, but there was nothing she could do to save her kids or turn things around. You can't fight City Hall!

Best Death

Kara: Best death seems like a weird way to put this but it would have to be Ellen and Jo’s death. They went out swinging, literally in a blaze of glory. Plus that ‘Kick It in the Ass’ which just added more emotion to that already emotional scene (RIP Kim).

Tiny: When we say 'best death', we certainly don't mean it like 'Ruby-die-bitch-die-best-death'. It's more like 'heroic-epic-death'. Abandon All Hope deeply effected my week after seeing Ellen and Jo died in this episode. I couldn't re-visit that episode like I normally would. I have always loved Ellen and Jo, in fact, I sometimes think they were a bit under used. So to see them coming back to fight side by side with Team Free Will and then sacrificed themselves was heroic.

Coolest Death

Kara: Coolest death is a pretty God Damn easy one for me at least. Anna being burnt by Michael. There is just no way to explain how freaking awesome that death was. Burn baby burn.

Honorable mention: Gabriel being killed by his big bro Lucifer.

Tiny: I have to say Zachariah! Zach is the best villain viewers love to hate! The journey of his character from the get-go to his death was well-written, well-executed and well-performed. I love the dialogue exchange between Dean and Zach in Point of No Return. Kurt Fuller and Jensen Ackles played that scene brilliantly.

Best Fight

Kara: This may become as a surprise to some, but the best fight holds in the 100th episode. There were quite a few awesome fights in that episode however the best fight is between Cas and Dean. Holy Hell! Cas won a fight and against the Dean... and he smacked that little bitch silly.

Honorable mention: Once again Cas kicking major angel ass in Sympathy for the Devil.

Tiny: I am actually going a little left-field here and give the best fight to Mary and Anna in The Song Remains the Same. How often do we get to see Mary engaged in hand to hand combat?! Seeing her in a fight scene with Glenn Close was awesome!

Favourite Villain

Kara: How can you possibly pass up the King of the Douches? Lucifer, and he was the biggest bad guy in The End when he was wearing Sam. He was so bad ass when he was going around killing other gods and the fact he didn’t care about how many demons, his ‘children’, that he killed was just the icing on the douchifer cake.

Tiny: Zachariah. Kudos to Kurt Fuller for such an incredible performance. Supernatural does really awesome casting and Kurt Fuller was THE MAN to play this role! Zach is a character the show needs. Love him or hate him, the villainous character was well-constructed.

Honorable mention: Mark Pellegrino was awesome as Lucifer.

Favourite Good Guy

Kara: In a show like Supernatural there’s an abundance of good guys, however one really seemed to hit a cord with me. Gabriel. Maybe it’s because it’s not like he just was a good guy like Bobby and Cas and the boys, but he actually chose to go against everything, against his ‘trickster’ nature, against his family and even against the other Gods who were his friends. He didn’t pick heaven or hell, he didn’t choose between his brothers, he chose to be on the side of the Humans.

Tiny: It's a tie between Bobby and Castiel. I love them! On one hand I was prepared to say goodbye to them, but on the other hand I am so glad they are coming back in season six.

Honorable mention: Chuck and Trickster/ Gabriel. I love them so much!

Biggest WTF Moment

Kara: Ok... Ok... WTF? The colt can’t Kill Lucifer. But then how...? What? Oh, no we are so screwed.

Tiny: When Dean threw his amulet into the bin at the end of Dark Side of the Moon. WTF? Seriously WTF?! It was a hard moment to digest.

Most Under Used Character

Kara: For those that have listened to me bitch on twitter or via my blog this will be no surprise for you... but the most under used character was the lovely heart breaking Jessie. How can you have the Anti Christ in only ONE episode of the Apocalypse story arch? Couldn’t Hammer of the Gods be more like Jessie comes back and the boys have to protect them and somehow Lucifer catches where he is and comes after him? Come on! So disappointed with the lack of that sweet kid. I hope he is in season six.

Tiny: The Anti-Christ Jessie. This character has so much potential. I would like to see a closure. But perhaps they couldn't get the kid back or something. I hope Jessie will return in season six.

Best Confrontation

Kara: Dean confronting Lucifer in Sam’s body in the end. This is a scene that I can just watch over and over again. It was written so well, acted amazingly.

Tiny: I was really looking forward to see the Michael and Lucifer showdown. But surprising, I really really enjoyed the Michael (Matt Cohen) and Dean scene in The Song Remains the Same. I didn't expect to see Michael at all. I was so impressed with Cohen's performance, which made this confrontation so enjoyable to watch.

Favourite Guest Star

Kara: Paris Hilton... ha! Just kidding. While I am not a major Crowley fan I did however really enjoy Mark Sheppard. He had very smart well written one liners and is quite an enjoyable character.

Tiny: I have four, is that ok? The first one is Michael Shank, it's personal, that's all! I was so excited to see Michael on Supernatural. Having played one of my favourite TV characters Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG1, it was just so good to see him on my favourite show.

The second one of Mark Sheppard. He is just super awesome as Crowley. His performance and his interpretation of the character was masterful.

The third one is Richard Speight Jr. aka the Trickster/ Gabriel. I really enjoyed his performance this season.

The forth one is Mark Pellegrino aka Luci. Seriously! I love him as Jacob in Lost and I LOVE him as Luci. I can't think of anyone else who could play the role. (May be Misha Collins.. haha)

PS - I see Jim Beaver as a regular more than a guest star. So that's why you don't see Jim here.

Biggest ‘I KNEW IT’ Moment

Kara: Sam is Lucifers Vessel. Need I say more?

Tiny: When Castiel revealed to Dean that his amulet was God's EMF in Good God Y'All, I was speechless. I was like Seriously!! I knew it! Finally, the amulet's backstory! Although this particular story arc didn't really live up to my expectation and fell flat later, but this particular moment was epic.

Best Character Moment

Kara: Dean manning up in Point of No Return. When he was crying saying yes then looking at Sam and then, then there was that wink. The wink that said "Yeah Bizzatches Dean Winchester is back! Now give me something sharp."

Tiny: I originally picked the scene where Dean prayed to God at the end of My Bloody Valentine. But I changed my mind, because it was more like a out of character moment. So my choice goes to Dean's wink in Point of No Return, which was the turning point of his character. It was good to see the return of classic Dean. Screw Destiny!

Favourite Sam and Dean Moment

Kara: I guess this is sort of cheating, but when Sam as Lucifer is pounding the crap out of Dean and Dean goes ‘Don’t worry Sam I won’t leave you’ then that light hit the impala cue major league flashbacks.

Tiny: Sam and Dean didn't hug this year and their relationship continued to be in a strange place in season five. However the ending of Point of No Return was super cool and significant. It was a mini ending of a chapter before the big finale. Castiel said something before they entered the warehouse: "I don't have the same faith in you that Sam does." Sam knows Dean more than Dean realises. When it counts, it's the little thing we forget in life that makes a difference.

Favourite Comedic Moment in an Episode

Kara: Ok I am pretty sure this doesn’t need any explanation. NUTCRACKER!! Actually any moment in that episode.

Tiny: NUTCRACKER! I mean, seriously NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, can top that! Unless it's the Herpexia ad. It's funny that both scenes involved Sam. He isn't even the funny one on the show!

Biggest Unanswered Question

Kara: How the hell could Dean kill the Whore and watch the angel light? Who is Chuck? Where is God? How is Sam back? Why are my feet cold?

Tiny: Who EXACTLY is Chuck?

Best Moment in Season Five

Kara: Dean hugging his Mum in Dark Side of the Moon, telling her that he loved her and that he won’t ever leave her. That scene still makes me cry, it’s such a touching emotional scene.

Honorable mention: Sam and Dean coming clean to Mary in Back to the Future 2.

Tiny: This is the toughest category! I am going to give this award to the Winchesters. In The Song Remains the Same, Dean, Sam, Mary and John were in the Impala together, John was driving it and he told everyone to shut up. It was the perfect family moment for this dysfunctional family. I think this was the only time the Winchesters were seen in the family car together. This scene screamed PERFECT to me.

Honorable mention: Dean's "I am your son" moment was as epic as Vader's "I am your father" in Star Wars.

Best Episode

Kara: In season five there have been many outstanding episodes. But I can’t go past Point of No Return. It’s the 100th episode, it has everything an awesome episode of Supernatural needs. It was funny, it was sad, it had brother moments, there was action, there was story line there was 100 reasons why I still watch this show.

Honorable mention: The episode formally known as Back to the Future 2 and Dark Side of the Moon.

Tiny: To me, it's a tie between The End (written by Ben Edlund) Changing Channels (written by Jeremy Carver) and The Song Remains the Same (written by Sera Gamble). These episodes were extremely well-written, well-executed and well-performed. Jensen Ackles out-performed himself in The End. Richard Speight Jr. stepped up his performance as Trickster/ Gabriel in Changing Channels. Young Mary (Amy Gumenick) and John (Matt Cohen) were outstanding in The Song Remains the Same. Matt Cohen nailed his performance as John and Michael in one episode. These episodes were just close to perfection in my book.

Nothing ever really ends, does it? Other honorable mentions
