Do you think Jensen could have waited for the iPad 2?

Do you think Jensen could have waited for the iPad 2? I was thinking about the same too, but you know what, I am really happy with the first generation, and like I said before, I am really not missing out too much.

"Dang! Should've waited! Hey Jared, do you want this?"

I went to the iPad 2 launch at the Sydney's Apple Store last night. I was there probably 7pm, I didn't queue up. I was just taking photos and videos. I was actually surprised the queue was as long as the queue on the opening night of the store! The opening night was raining, so was last night. The vibe was so much like the opening night. And I really want one of the black umbrella with the white Apple logo on it. The store people were distributing the umbrellas to fans waiting outside, I didn't know they actually collected the umbrellas back! I supposed if you just hide it, they won't know? Anyway, if you want to buy the iPad 2 last night, officially you have to line up. They only allowed you to enter in a group of 6 to 7, led by a concierge to the 3rd floor. The Apple Store was busy as usual, but that's like everyday, right?! At a product launch like this, I usually just go straight to the 2nd floor to play, there are less people there.

Let's talk about the stuff that are totally unimportant. TOTALLY! I got my hands on the iPad 2. It was thinner (it's Mac Air thin!), lighter (but not much lighter than iPad 1), faster and sharper (not that it was previously blurry). I was a little underwhelmed by the white iPad. It isn't the classic Apple white, if you know what I mean. It's not like the whole iPad is white, it still has the aluminum back. The white is a little too 'glassy' to me. If it's white, I want it to be the classic Apple white. Not that the look is important or anything.

There are some very interesting stats here. Check out this article, it has the profile of the people at the Apple Store on London’s Regent Street. Were they single, did they own an iPhone, did they have a beard etc.. LOL. Go read it! It's fun!

The SmartCover is also a fridge magnet, this makes Teeny very excited. She can now stick the iPad on the fridge when she cooks. That brings me to the next topic.. two of my friends including Teeny have decided to buy the iPad 2. I got all these texts yesterday and feel the Apple love! I love a good Apple lover!

If you're thinking of getting something more than a phone but less clumsy than a laptop, you should consider the iPad. It delivers. I hate papers. I don't want to print anything anymore, I love taking my iPad to meetings etc and make notes and show clients stuff. It's better than taking a laptop. When I get back to the office I sync it via iTune. It's great! It's fun and it's cool. It's not about the image, but I really don't see the value and the awesomeness of carrying a $600 laptop from Officeworks.

The iPad is smarter than I thought and it's almost like a cultural revolution, our habits are changing and we are demanding real time news and service more than ever. The iPad pushes the industry to do better. It's good competition. Businesses should take advantage of this revolution. Do it or die!

Again, what makes the iPad (or iPhone) awesome, is the App Store. I randomly discovered 3 new apps last night: pUniverse (so I know what I am looking at when I look up to the sky), Fish Fingers (coz I suck at taking care of real fishes) and The Photo Cookbook -- Baking (I am inspired to bake again!)

Part 1: The Apple Store looks amazing at night.

I want the black umbrella with the white Apple logo!!

Part 2: The Apple Store looks amazing at night.

Part 3: The Apple Store looks amazing at night.

Erica Durance - TV Guide Photoshoot & WB Interview

Cannot wait for this issue of TV Guide!!!!! I love Erica! She is so cool!!

Smallville is featured on the April 7 issue of TV Guide. Don't miss it!! I think Tom Welling is in it as well.. I mean, the guy is SUPERMAN!! Suck it up and deal with it! Tom is our generation of Superman!

Erica also did an interview awhile ago for WB. They spent a lot of time fixing her hair and I don't see the different! LOL. This interview makes me want to watch her first Smallville episode back in season 4. I love Erica's Lois on Smallville, I have never been a Superman fan, but I am completely sold to Smallville. I want to be Lois when I grow up.

How many hours to go until the end of Smallville? Too sad, don't remind me!

Supermoon Weekend Edition - Alien Invasion Movies

I watched Battle: LA today. More alien invasion movies, fan-bloody-tastic! Just what we needed! The movie was ok, it has some moments. I was sure Jack Bauer was going to pop up and kick some butts. I don't know why I said that, but that idea did come up during the movie.

I think after Independence Day, there should be no more alien invasion movies, not with the similar ending anyway. It's like the writers can't think of a better way to end the movie: 'let's blow up the mother ship, surely no one would remember ID4, right?'

I know movies such as Battle: LA is about aliens invasion, colonisation, they come, they kill, heroes saving people. It's a blast fest with a non-stop soundtrack straight out from Epic Action & Adventure or Trailerhead. It's a good way to spend 2-hour on a Saturday afternoon, but it just looks so familiar!! When was the last time I saw an alien-invasion-colonisation-they come-they-kill type of movie? Cloverfield? At least J.J Abrams took the mockumentary approach. At least there was something creative about it.

Still, I was hoping to see something a bit more to the battle, what about the motive behind the invasion? Why are aliens always portrayed as the enemies in Hollywood movies? I guess this is why I like District 9 better, I know they are different movies, but it's about thinking outside the square. Aren't creative people suppose to be creative? District 9 has aliens but it's a drama, it's not the usual sci-fi stuff. I was drawn into it because of the drama, the relationship and the motive.

The characters in Battle: LA reminds me of those from Alien/ Aliens... May be I have been watching the Alien films re-run on TV lately, Aaron Eckhart is like a male version of Sigourney Weaver, and his marines are like Hicks' team. Perhaps the best thing about Battle: LA is the trailer of THOR.

I just want Jack Bauer to pop out and kick asses. I am sure he can do a Neo versus countless Agent Smiths and have Chloe bringing down the mothership. A 24 very own version of alien invasion movie? I like it like it!

Supernatural at Paley; Early Lockdown

Last Sunday, the cast and crew of Supernatural made their epic appearance at the Paley Fest in LA. They said a lot of things, Eric and Sera and the cast teased us and threw us a bone. I got to a point where I had to stop reading and I have decided to go into lockdown sooner than usual.

I am super excited about what's ahead of us, including the western episode and a Castiel centric episode. OMFG!!! The more I think about what they said, the more I desire to find and read spoilers. It's so addictive, seriously!!!! So I guess we'll just look at photos, shall we? ^_^

The writers are my heroes!

The boys went straight back to Vancouver after Paley. See Jared changed, Misha changed his shirt, but Jensen didn't. AWESOME!

Kripke to write Supernatural season 6 finale; Supernatural cast and crew on Twitter

HELL YEAH! Octocobra aside (whatever!), Kripke is going to write the season 6 finale. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to hear this. I've been waiting all season for this! I kept asking, when will Kripke write an episode this season?! When I grow up, I want to be Kripke. I love him!

If you follow Jim Beaver on Twitter, he has tweeted about it! not only Kripke will write for 6.22, Sera Gamble will write for 6.21.

PS.. For those who are new to Superatural, Twitter or Facebook, please note Jensen, Jared and Genevieve ARE NOT ON ANY SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITES. If you see them there, they are FAKE! I cannot stress this enough, because J2 are very private and they are NOT on any social media websites. Almost the entire cast and some crew members are on Twitter but NOT Jensen, Jared and Genevieve. Get over it! The only time you can FaceTime and HugTime is at the Convention.

Supernatural cast and crew who are on Twitter and are real include: Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Alona Tal, Guy Bee, Richard Speight Jr., Matt Cohen, Amy Gumenick, Colin Ford, Mark Sheppard, Sebastian Roché, Samantha Ferris, Rob Benedict, Traci Dinwiddie, Chad Lindberg, Aldis Hodge, AJ Buckley and Travis Wester. You can also follow the CW on Twitter.

Other reliable sources include: Danneel Harris, Steve Carlson, Jason Manns and Clif Kosterman (Jensen and Jared's bodyguard).

Do you want to join Misha Collins and Matt Cohen in Haiti this summer?

As you know, Misha's Random Acts has on-going initiative -- The Hope to Haiti. This summer, Misha and Matt Cohen will go to Haiti together, their mission is to help build a multipurpose community center with a green design that will provide shelter and a place to educate and feed many children in Jacmel. Here is Misha's message.

It's fantastic to hear Misha is working on this trip with Matt Cohen. The trip is scheduled from June 20-26, 2011. Matt is scheduled to be there the entire trip, while Misha is scheduled to be there from 23 June. For more details on how you can join Misha and Matt, check out the Random Acts official website for details.

Two Words -- Samuel Colt

Can you feel how excited I am about the up-coming episode? Long time friends of this blog would know about my obsession of the Colt. I even nearly wrote the bloody episode just to please myself.

Anyway, 6.18 Frontierland is the episode involving time travelling to the old west, expect to see Samuel Colt, cowboys and cowboy hats. The officials have been very hush-hush about this episode, I have not seen anything such as spoilers or official synopsis anywhere, except a few Twitpics from Guy Bee who directed the episode and Jensen hurt his hand.

So I am going to give you my thoughts on Samuel Colt and what I would like to see in Frontierland. If you give a crap, read on. If not, watch this.

So, the only thing we know so far is that in 1835 Samuel Colt made the gun for hunters. He made the Colt with 13 special bullets before he disappeared, the gun along with him. Somehow it got to Daniel Elkins, a vampire hunter. We first saw the Colt in the Dead Man's Blood, where a bullet was used to kill vampire Edward, I mean Luther.

The Colt was lost and found over the years of the show. Back in season 3, Bella stole the Colt from Dean and Sam, it was gone for awhile. In season 5's The End, future Dean revealed to present Dean that he found the Colt after 5 years of searching. Later on in season 5, Becky revealed to Sam that Bella gave the Colt to Crowley. We didn't see Crowley until the second half of season five where he gave the Colt (with a new bag of bullets) to the Winchesters, hoping that they could kill Lucifer with it. But it didn't work, the Colt was designed to kill anything that move except five things in all of creation, Lucifer was one of them. We are assuming other archangels, may be the Horsemen and perhaps God were amongst the others.

What was the real story behind the Colt? Why did Samuel Colt make the gun? How did he know about the fire power it possessed? Did he know that it could kill demons and monsters? Did someone tell him about it or perhaps instruct him to make the gun? Did he act alone? Don't forget, Samuel Colt also built the giant evil's trap with the Devil's Gate in the middle. The Colt was also a key to open the Devil's Gate. I assume it also locked the Devil's Gate. The construction of the tracks, the gate and the Colt seemed strategic to me. There is no way Samuel Colt didn't know anything about anything!

Let's go further.. why did Bella give the Colt to Crowley? Surely if he was the King of Hell, he could just kill anything anyone without the Colt. Perhaps he needed the Colt to kill something more powerful, Lucifer being one (but it didn't work on him) and perhaps Mother Dearest? Think about it, Crowley wasn't going to find Purgatory and take over without a fight with Mother Dearest. So, naturally, the Colt would serve as a weapon. And I am assuming Crowley wanted to fight Mother Dearest for establishing his territory. I won't be surprised if Crowley had something to do with what happened in the old west.

With Dean and Sam going back to the old west in Frontierland, perhaps it has something to do with the story behind the making of the gun and perhaps the boys will find clues to kill Mother Dearest?

If Frontierland is not about any of the above, I can live with it. Hell! I've been living with this obsession since I started watching the show. But if I could get just one glimpse of the story behind the making of the Colt, I'd be a very very happy viewer. The Colt is tied to the mytho of the show, it's tied to John Winchester and it's tied to the demon/ angel storyarc. I somehow don't see this as a filler episode. But like I said, if it was a filler episode, I can live with it. Just saying I am dying to see something I've wanted to see for soooooooo long!!

Frontierland is directed by Guy Bee, written by Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin. Actor, Sam Hennings is Samuel Colt. I am sure he is great, but I still want my Jeremy Davis to be Samuel Colt.

I think too much. But I can stop now.. at least for a few weeks.

Review: Supernatural 6.16 And Then There Were None

Some shows killed more characters than others. Supernatural is one of them. I should get used to it by now, but no, I can't get over it yet, especially when I feel a certain character still have a purpose to serve, it's very sad.

6.16 And Then There Were None is in the same bag as Croatian, Good God Y'All and 99 Problems. I love an episode that takes place in a confined environment, making it a character driven episode. In situation like this, it often reveals things you don't know previously. Apart from getting through the 40-min episode and we see our heroes fried a worm, it's really about how things will effect characters towards the end of the situation. 6.16 is very intense, apart from the Dean and Sam stuff, I am particular impressed with the Bobby and Rufus dynamic. It's so good I am all for a Bobby-Rufus spin-off.

So I'd like to talk about the 4 deaths in this episode..

Death 1 - Gwen

I'd like to say I care, but I really don't. I just don't think her character had a purpose. She wasn't making trouble, but she wasn't helping either. Even Bella was more interesting and had more potential than Gwen, and I liked Bella.

Death 2 - Grandpa Samuel

I like Mitch Pileggi who is a great actor. But sadly, I think Samuel could've been written and utalised better. I really like Samuel when he first appeared in In the Beginning. I was expecting Samuel to be more solid in terms of the construction of the character, but he was weak and I guess I was a little disappointed with his existence. It just didn't work for me. I guess I am like Dean -- "welcome to your next time" -- can I kill you now? Samuel was annoying and said things so un-Winchester like.. I mean the guy was a Campbell, but I was really expecting so much more from Mary's father. Sadly, I won't miss Samuel.

But by the way, how awesome it was to see Skinner and Mr X in the same scenes!!! AWESOME!

Death 3 - Rufus

WHY? Why did they kill Rufus? I like him! Bobby has no friends now. I am particular impressed with the Bobby-Rufus dynamic. It's like the older version of Dean and Sam; Chuck and Casey; Tony and Rhodey. I wish Rufus had wore a black trentcoat instead, just like Mr. X in The X-Files.

Steve Williams is such as powerhouse actor, who always gives a captivating performance. I love the scene where Bobby mentioned about Rufus' wife and wanted forgiveness, Rufus just almost flipped and told Bobby he wasn't forgiven. That was actually a very very good scene and awesome exchange of dialogue. The guilt must be killing Bobby on the inside, the last scene was very touching. How could one live with that? But I think Rufus still loved Bobby like a brother.

Through out the entire episode, I suddenly wanted a Bobby-Rufus spin-off. I am just not ready to let go of the Bobby-Rufus dynamic.

 Ocean 4 anyone?

Death 4 - The Black Worm

Die! You ugly piece of worm! Die!

So this thing is new in town, it hasn't got a name yet. So I guess Mother is cooking up all these new kinds of monsters, so that hunters won't have a clue on how to deal with them. This is a very scary scenario for our favorite hunters! Kripke insisted from the get-go that everything must be based on an existing lore. If we are about to see all kinds of new monsters, not only it would present a new challenge to the characters, it's a whole new challenge to the writing team. The monster-possessing human arc is going to bring Supernatural to a new level of intensity.

How well it will gel with the angels and war of heaven in terms of the overall story? Will demon Meg help? Will heaven and hell work together to send Mother back to Purgatory to restore balance. Or will Death intervene since he is already kind of pissed off about not being able to do his job? Don't forget, Death wanted Dean to keep digging about souls and I hope this arc will return towards the end of the season.

By the way, how awesome was Jim Beaver in this episode? This is probably one of his best, his interpretation of a monster-possessed Bobby was just awesome (and creepy). Note this, Jim Beaver was the first actor on the show who played a monster-possessed human. Other actors may have to channel Bobby in later episodes. 'Dr Fate'* didn't do much, so he didn't count.

*The actor who played the track driver in this episode was the brilliant Brent Stait, who also played Dr Fate in Smallville: Absolute Justice.

And Then There Were None is near perfect Supernatural classic episode with the suspense, the intensity, the darkest, the setting, the conflicts, the humor, the dynamic between the characters, the multiple deaths, the guilt, the brotherly moment when Dean and Sam were separated, the Dean speech at the cemetery... and last but not least a fantastic performance from the whole cast. The only thing missing was the Impala, the classic rock and Dean's leather jacket.

So we are on a hellatus. With only 6 episodes left, I can't wait to see what Sera and co have installed for us!

This one is for Rufus.

Let the hellatus begin - Supernatural returns April 15

I usually don't like hellatus, because it's hell! But this time, I actually welcome a break. A break for me to catch up with Smallville and hopefully Chuck... and of course the LACon post report and video stuff.

All new episode of Supernatural will return on April 15 with 6.17 My Heart Will Go On. Below is a combo promo for 6.17 My Heart Will Go On and the much anticipated 6.18 Frontierland (aka the western episode).

I don't think I have seen the official synopsis for 6.17 & 6.18. But I am so so looking forward to Frontierland. Samuel Colt! OMG! I love the Colt!

Review: Supernatural 6.15 The French Mistake

Ben Edlund’s mind is a very very dark place. I think it’s as dark as the mind of Joss Whedon or Eric Kripke. But Ben Edlund is cheeky. He likes to have fun and he takes risks and he comes up with some of the craziest ideas. I mean, this is the guy who pitched the Ghost Facers idea to Kripke in season 3 in style -- he sang the song to Kripke!

Everything happened in the episode The French Mistake was headline-worthy. Hollywood stars have the habit of getting themselves into trouble, the off-the-camera stuff is more news worthy than the actual show and it's not uncommon to hear about cast and crew don't get along. Edlund had the license to go nuts with his ideas or should I say, Edlund has the license to kill, literally! We'll get to that.

Edund is not any writer in the business, he is a writer on the show Supernatural. I think you have to be very weird to be a writer on the show. Edlund is the perfect writer for this episode.

If the fake Supernatural was real, we will see the following headlines. Thank Chuck, we are not Two and a Half Men!
BREAKING NEWS: Production of Supernatural has been shut down for good. The decision was made following some shocking deaths, assaults and drugs allegations. First, the troubled stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki were seen smuggling drugs and beating up an extra on the set. It was not clear that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki were either still on drugs or suffering from a serious mental breakdown. But witnesses said, at least they were talking to each other. The series leads stormed off the set after a heated discussion with Executive Producer Bob Singer. Witnesses said the series creator was on the set to resolve the issue, but he was shot dead by the extra who got beaten up by Ackles and Padalecki. A series of unfortunate events didn't stop there, earlier on the week, series regular Misha Collins was stabbed to death in an alleyway.
Stuff like this not only made headlines, they made the front cover of Variety, right?

This time, the crew was under the spotlight in the episode. I won't be surprised if there were more Easter Eggs in this episode than it appeared. In the tradition of Supernatural the Kripke style, Kripke likes to kill off characters including Dean and Sam, but of course they usually come back from being dead. In this episode, Edlund turned things around and killed the crew, including Kripke. I think the guy who dodged the bullet in slow motion survived?

Edlund is so masterful he didn't write himself into the story. I guess because the studio has very strict rules about crew being on the show, and if Edlund has to cast someone to play him, it would be himself! The guy is irreplaceable!

Misha Collins plays the fake Misha and the real Castiel. This guy is at the top of his game. His performance in the scene where he thought Jensen and Jared (aka Dean and Sam) were pranking him, was flipping amazing. At first, I thought Misha was just doing his Cas thing with the frowny face and deep voice, but I realised the reason he ‘switched’ his expression in that quick second was because he was fake Misha, he was just reading his lines. His tweet "Ola mishamigos! J2 got me good. Really starting to feel like one of the guys" was awesome! Misha also tweeted this on Twitter on the night of the broadcast. If you hadn't watched the episode and saw his tweet, you'd be like WTF? Later on the episode, fake Misha also tweeted "IMHO J&J had a late one last night. Rotflmfao!" Seriously this guy is really having fun! Misha's performance as the fake him was just so awesome he deserved the best supporting actor at the Golden Globe or something. But of course he is too good for those awards clowns.

What about Jensen and Jared? I thought Jared in particular was a good sport. I think it does up to him when it comes to having Gen in the episode as his wife. How that process was done, I had no idea, but I assume Edlund won't write Gen in if Jared refused to do so. I really enjoyed seeing Gen on the show as Gen! I guess Jensen is more private and perhaps he did request Edlund to leave him and Danneel out of this? It would've been awesome to see Danneel on the show. Clif was saying on Twitter, Jensen doesn't have a giant fish tank and Jared doesn't have a Luthor mansion in real life. I suppose this is a Supernatural episode afterall, it's not a reality show on Jensen and Jared, but you can see how much fun Edlund had in writing this episode, how much fun it was to shoot this episode from the cast and crew point of view.

The one scene that made me jumped from my chair and punched my fist into the air was this scene! I don't expect to see Cas' wings at all! It was a bit random but it was awesome!! YES! I bought a new iPad sleeve with wings just for Cas! Do you know how epic it was? This was only the second we saw his wings in the history of the show!

Moving onto the mytho, it's obvious that we will see more on the war of heaven, those weapons will come in place. Purgatory, the Mother and more angels will all arrive at the same destination later on this season. I particular enjoyed Baltazer's appearance. I really want him to be a good friend to Cas and I don't want to see another Zach or Anna. As much as I enjoyed Zach and Anna on the show who served a purpose in the overall story arc, I think it's refreshing to see a good friend, I want Cas to have a good angel buddy. I mean, apart from Cas, Gabriel is my favorite, but he wasn't a friend. And I really want someone, an angel, to support him as a friend.

Supernatural started in an unusual manner this season, but I think in the tradition of the show, they don't throw something out there and don't follow through. So watch this space.

The French Mistake was an awesome episode, it's fun and it has the mytho of season 6 in it and oh... I would love Edlund to do a commentary for this episode. Edlund is confirmed to direct 6.20 The Man Who Would Be King.

Apple talk - iPad 2; Jensening my iDean 5

A few days ago, I sent an email to a dear friend, you may know her the illusive Teeny. Below is the highlight of our conversation:
"So, rumor has it about the white iPad. Good thing for me, I have already purchased a white sleeve with wings for my iCas. But you may want to check this one out anyway.

I have never really like the colour white before, I used to have a lot of black stuff. But I see my life and taste is really changing. From the colour of my new bag to my choice of an iPad sleeve, everything seems brighter and better.

Apple invited the press to attend some sort of announcement thing on March 2nd. Rumor is that Apple will announce iPad 2. Seriously, this press thing screams iPad 2.

But just so you know, I am happily committed to my iPad.

Onto my new baby, iDean 5: if the rumor photo is recurring, I’d like to think it’s pretty true or close to being true. Check this out. It looks very similar to the one we saw a few months ago. But I don’t think it'll a transparent phone. However, I know it will be super cool. It'd better be awesome! I've waited over 12 months for this, this is the upgrade long overdue. When I demand coffee, it must provide."
A few days later, aka today, Apple announced the iPad 2. Surprise! Check out the MacWorld review here. It's thinner, lighter and faster. It's MacAir thin! It has 2 cameras, one of them is for FaceTime. It has a Smart Cover, which is actually pretty smart and there are so many colours to choose from (just like the iPod Nano). And it is available in white as well as black.

I'd like to say I care about other upgrades but I really don't. I still have the practice of using my home Mac as the main machine, if I need stuff on my iDean (iPhone) or iCas (iPad), I'll transfer the relevant files. So I don't feel I am missing out on things like Garage Band and iMovie on my iPad.

iPad is a very smart machine. I am really happy with my purchase. I could've waited, but the iPad was a win during my recent trip to the States.

My current iDean is about to retire. The next generation is what I have been waiting for. And it should have a Christening (I call it Jensening), which involves Jensen touching it and signing it. Seriously, I think the iPhone 5 is worth the wait. Totally!

Oh Jensen touched and signed my iPhone that was named after his character. Touch it again when I get the next one! Excuse to go to next year's LACon!
