I blog about Supernatural and everything else relating to the show a lot! However, there are many other things that make me happy and appreciate life more. I wanted to dedicate this feature to other things I love that are not Supernatural related. I have named the year's best dress, photo, actors, person of the year etc. So, here they are, my version of something like a 'best of...' according to yours truly.
Photo of the year is...
Can you guess where this photo was taken? Don't peak!
This was taken in October this year when I was at the bottom of the staircase of Apple Store on 5th Avenue in New York. I love this shot so much because it fits the definition of a great 'Kodak moment.' This is the background of my other travel and food blog -- Sunny Tiny.
Apart from Supernatural, my second favorite TV series of the year is...
Between Arrow, A Game of Thrones, Revolution, Homeland, Once Upon A Time, New Girl, The Walking Dead.. it is a very hard decision to make, but I have decided.
The winner is Once Upon A Time. It's just growing on me and I am really into the show and the mythology now! Arrow or Revolution could have been the winner, but I found the last few episodes of Arrow a bit repetitive, but they always reveal something in each episode and I do like what I saw in the mid-season finale. Revolution lost to OUAT by a hair. I just know OUAT a bit more than Revolution. Bottomline is, I can explain OUAT better and in great details to my brother than other shows. And that's the sign right there.
Apart from Jensen Ackles, the second best performance from an actor is...
Robert Carlyle! Surprise? Yes dearie, even I find my decision a little surprising! Carlyle's performance as Rumpledkiltskin/Mr Gold really make the show for me. His performance is.. well.. gold! Rumpledkiltskin/Mr Gold holds the key to everything that happens on the show. Mysterious Rumpledkiltskin/Mr Gold is mysterious!
I want to grow up just like her -- most inspiring female actress of the year is...
Hands down Zooey Deschanel! She is awesome as Jess in New Girl. She is a super cool chic. She is not your Miss Universe beauty, she is not the cliche Hollywood drop dead gorgeous hot chic with a hot body. This is a compliment, Zooey! Hehe.
Zooey is quirky, funny and nerdy. She is not the sexy lady type. She is one of a kind and she makes wearing glasses hot! Zooey is inspirational! I want to grow up just like her! I love WWZDW! Check this out my fellow quirky ladies.. This is a website called What Would Zooey Deschanel Wear. This is OMG awesome!
And I want a pair Oliver Peoples glasses! The closest I can find is one from Agnes B, which is what I am wearing now.
Biggest disappointment of the year is...
Apart from Instagram? It's Smash.. it could've been a great show, but it just lacks a lot of things. But still, I'll tune in for season two and see how it plays out.
The best burger of the year is...
Shake Stack from Shake Shack!! This, THIS, IS happiness! As I my teeth sank into the burger, a smile appeared from my face. OMFG... This burger is amazing!! Just amazing!! I went to New York for this!
Best dress of the year is...
Tangerine
Tango is the color of the year in 2012. Emerald Green is the color of
2013, in case you ask. Anyway. This year at the Emmy Awards, Ginnifer
Goodwin wore this STUNNING dress. I cannot get over how beautiful this
is! OMG! Move over Miss Universe!
Apart from Dean Winchester, my second favorite hero of the year is...
Apart from Dean Winchester, the green guy makes the list this year.
I've been Ruffalised. Hulk is misunderstood by me. I never get it. And what's with the pants? Joss Whedon's take on the Hulk in The Avengers changed the way I look at the character. And I think Mark Ruffalo is awesome. Although I still don't get the pants thing.
Favorite villain of the year is...
I could make another Facebook or Instagram joke, but even I won't find it funny.
My favorite villain of the year is Loki!! Thank you Tom Hiddleston for making Loki so enjoyable to watch. I can listen to his voice all day!!
Movie of the year is...
Two words: The Avengers!
Person of the year is...
Apart from Jensen Ackles, it comes down to this: between Joss Whedon and Barack Obama.
Really? OK. It's Joss! 2012 is a payoff year for Joss. After Firefly, I don't think Joss has recovered from such stupid brutality from the MAN. Joss totally deserves the success and his works deserve to be seen as a driving force behind the cultural movement of this generation. The Avengers may not be the best thing ever for many, but it is one of the best things ever. The Avengers is the shape of things to come. Look out! Joss will be Person of the Decade!
This year's most played song according to my iTune playlist is...
No! It's not Gangnam Style!
According to my playlist, it's a race between Zooey Deschanel's Hey Girl and Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass's Spanish Flea. I don't know how it happened, but Hey Girl was played 1544 times, and Spanish Flea was played 396 times.
The best goodbye from a TV series is...
CHUCK! I cried from the moment Casey gave Chuck a hug! Don't judge me but I think 007 is lame. I dislike the whole "I am Bond, James Bond. I am so hot, it's your lost if you don't fall into my arms and let me kiss you right now" thing. What is he? Fabio?
Chuck changed my perception towards spy things. It rocks! And I even like Tim Dalton and the twist about his character!
Convention of the year is...
I've only been to one convention this year but the winner is Salute to Supernatural, Chicago
How bias is that? I've had a stressful year, this is hands down the best weekend of the year. I wish I could stop time and never leave Chicago.
Project of the year
You have your mining booms and dooms, and I got my LEGO project!
Best people I met this year is...
Taxi drivers. I know! I know cabbies are not loved by many, especially my mother. But when you are engaged in a conversation with them, you will discover stories of the city. Only by engaging in a conversation with people, you will find out more about a culture. It's an enriching experience.
Best city of the year is...
New York! This city really inspires me and I would do anything to go there again! New Yorkers want you to love their city. It has a rich culture, it inspires you to do better things. It's great for walking, eating, shopping, reading, writing and taking photos. I return home with new attitude and new ideas. LOVE!
Jensen's best look of the year is...
You know I can't help it! Jensen's appearance at the CW Up-Front in NYC this year is epic! He looks like the man in charge! Give him the Godfather role and he can nail it! HOT HOT HOT HOT!
This is hands down the hottest look of Jensen in a public appearance.
Don Jensen.
So, there you do. What are your favorite things in 2012? What makes you happy?

This Week in TV - Revolution; Once Upon A Time
When it comes to television, Fall is truly my favorite season and summer is literally just around the corner (well, for the Aussies anyway). I miss the sunshine, but I miss my shows more. What does it say about me? If your answer is rude, keep it to yourself. ^_^
Apart from reviewing the season eight premiere of Supernatural, I also have some thoughts about a few other shows that I watched this week -- Revolution and Once Upon A Time.
Revolution -- 1.02 Chained Heat and 1.3 No Quarter did not disappoint. I enjoyed it more than I expected. I thought they were really good follow up episodes. First and foremost, this is a new show and it is not crap, I have established that much. It's too early to tell if this is one of the best shows ever, but then again, it depends on who you are. My mum still thinks Hart To Hart is the best damn show on earth. My point is, give it time and keep an open mind! And most importantly, just enjoy the show! It takes time to build a story and its characters. Let Kripke work his magic! I know a lot of fans are watching it and comparing it with Lost and Supernatural. Kripke always has something to say about family and survival. It's his thing!
One of the key themes that emerges from Chained Heat and No Quarter is the Militia vs the Rebel (the Resistance) story. I like this plot. What turns Munroe to the dark side? What turns a friend to go against another? What does Rachel know about it? What happen to Grace? And what exactly does Ben know about the power? All these questions are intriguing. In No Quarter, the biggest twist is that Miles was the general of the Militia, he set the rules and he started everything. His backstory in which Munroe and Jeremy were involved was cool. They seem like the innocent partners to Miles but what went wrong? What turned them into villains of the stories? I love Mark Pellegrino as Jeremy! I think his performance was brilliant in No Quarter and I hope he will be a regular on the show. We also find out Grace build a computer and the amulet is a power source that is enough to power up the music and the iPhone. That was cool. I think the amulet is solar, and is it like a Wifi charger that we have not seen in today's world yet?
By episode three, I figure that we are getting answers to some questions, enough for the story to go on and keep us interested. Like Lost, we didn't find out what that black monster is until very later on in the series. But at least for Revolution, we are getting probably 1/4 of the answers about the amulet. Which makes me think that Revolution has a well-planned story to tell, we need to stick around for it.
Once Upon A Time -- 2.1 Broken. What a way to return for OUAT! I think it's on most fans' minds -- who is that mysterious man in New York? Could he be Baelfire? That's my first impression. First of all, the mysterious man knows about Storybrooke, he may know the magic too. Secondly, someone who knows about Storybrooke is communicating with the mysterious man, either from the inside or somewhere close to the town. I am guessing it's August. Thirdly, whatever this mysterious man in New York is, he could be the man August was talking to on the phone in season one. If this is the case, this mysterious man is working with August.
I think Baelfire and August are working together. We know so little about Henry's father, who could be just some random guy or not. He could be someone who planned this all along. While Henry isn't anyone magical, he is an important figure in Emma's and Regina's life, I don't think his existence is random. I think it makes sense that his father is something out of the ordinary. August does have a memory of Emma and is aware of everything. I assume Baelfire's memory is intact and he remembers everything from his childhood. Perhaps Baelfire knows about Emma, Mr Gold and magic, but obviously Emma doesn't know him as Baelfire. That's just my theory.
And how funny was it to see Charming, Snow (who are now grandparents) with Henry and Emma together! Also, how will Emma and Snow get out? My guess is either the Huntsman or Jefferson. Hopefully Emma and Snow won't be there for too long. The only thing that didn't really work for me is Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. That part of the story seem a little out of place to me and I find it a bit difficult to connect.
It's no secret that Captain Hook is a regular this season. And Jefferson is still around in the modern day. I tell you what.. Jefferson and August are two of my favorite characters on the show. And I want to see them more! Speaking of August, I wonder when he will due back. Here are the clips for next week. When it comes to spoilers for OUAT, I can handle it. With Emma gone, looks like Charming is the new sheriff. Who's gonna stop him right? He is the Prince!
In coming weeks, I will also blog about Derren Brown -- an English illusionist, mentalist, hypnotist, painter, writer and sceptic. I am very excited about this. I don't know how he does what he does, but he is damn good at what he does!
Have a nice TV week folks.

Emmys Best Dress - Zooey Deschanel, Emilia Clarke & Ginnifer Goodwin
I don't normally do this because, first and foremost, I don't like awards shows, I get why there are a gazillion of them, but perhaps my favorite shows and actors are never there, so what's the point? But it is the night of nights for not only actors but the behind the scene people who work so hard. Awards could be a dull affair, as some would say, but things like this mean a lot to these people. So, I respect that.
I only watch awards shows (thank you YouTube) if my favorite people appear the shows and depends on who host the shows. I always love watching the opening (musical) numbers and monologue. I gotta say, one of my favorite hosts is David Letterman when he hosted the Oscar in 1995. Despite what the 'critics' said, I like the fact that Dave made it into his own show by including his Top Ten List segment. That was quite entertaining to me. Apart from Dave, I always love hosts such as Billy Crystal and Neil Patrick Harris and I always love a talk show hosts hosting the Emmys or something.
I can be a sucker for late night talk shows. I don't know what is it, but we don't get them in Australia, and watching late night talk shows remind me of being away from home. I like that because I love traveling. I remember last year when I get to LA and NY, I was like -- can I be back at the hotel for Jimmy Fallon? I am not admitting I love the guy, I am saying I like the idea of watching late night talk shows. Anyway, I apologise for not making any sense because I am having a food-hangover.
So, I have decided to blog about the Emmys this year. Not that I care about who wins what, I am sure they all deserve it. But what I love, sometimes, is the red carpet. Dresses speak personalities sometimes and a few dresses caught my eyes this year. I just love their dresses and I want them NOW! They are not the traditional boring dresses and these dresses show character! Good on them for making great choices about their dresses and the colours. They look absolutely stunning!!! Their dress choice is very close to my personal taste. Here are my selections...
Emilia Clarke
I love Emilia. I think she is so pretty and she is awesome as Dany in A Game of Thrones. I love her British accent. And I love her dress! LOVE! I WANT THAT DRESS!!! You can watch her red carpet interview with Pop Sugar here.
Zooey Deschanel
I love Zooey. I just love how adorkable she is, I love her creativity, her attitude, her work (singing, acting and her Hello Giggle). Despite my attempt in getting her hairdo fails, I love her hair! I love her Oliver Peoples glasses in New Girl. And I love this shot of Jim Parson and Zooey. I want them to do a movie together! I love her dress, it's so classy, so Zooey! She is just gorgeous!
Ginnifer Goodwin
Not many women look good with short hair, but I am really digging Ginnifer's short hair, she looks so beautiful and classy. I love the colour of her dress. Not many actresses can walk the red carpet with that kind of vibrant colour and look beautiful at the same time. LOVE THE ORANGE! That's my kind of pattern too! I want to touch it!
