Supernatural Season 7 DVD & Blu-Ray -- Release Date & Details

VERY PRETTY!
Mark your diary! The release date for both the DVD and the Blu-ray Supernatural -- The Complete 7th Season is September 18th.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray will include all 23 episodes, plus bonus material such as featurettes, commentaries, deleted scenes and a gag reel. The Blu-ray will include exclusive additional featurette, and UltraViolet digital downloads of the episodes (available only in the USA). OH BOO!

No words as yet as to which episodes will have commentaries and who will be featured in the commentaries. It's pretty safe to speculate that Sera Gamble, Ben Edlund and Robert Singer will be doing the commentaries. The surprise, if any, would come from the cast themselves doing the commentaries -- i.e. Jim Beaver doing one for Death's Door, or Misha Collins doing one for The Born-Again Identity, or Jensen doing one for Time After Time, or Jared doing one for Plucky. Who knows! That's just me talking! And you know what I've always wanted? The behind the scene interviews and/or footage from Comic Con. A fan can only dream!

Watch this space for more details..

Here is the official season seven description for the DVD:

"The seventh season of Supernatural put the Winchester brothers in a terribly lonely place.  After losing their good friend and ally Castiel at the beginning of the season, the writers systematically stripped away many things that they loved, including Bobby's house, their beloved Impala, and then Bobby himself.  Although both Castiel and Bobby returned towards the end of the season, it's clear that Team Free Will isn't what it once was.  Not to mention the fact that they spent the season dealing with flesh-eating monsters called Leviathans."

UPDATE: The back cover art work is on the Amazon website, see below. I actually haven't found any release on the actual special feature items, but Supernatural Fans Online posted a few details on their website.

Stay tuned for more update as WB releases more official details.

MARK YOUR DIARY! Supernatural Twitter Rewatch Party -- A Tribute to Sera Gamble, Sunday 10th June, 11AM, (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

It's been awhile since the last Supernatural Twitter Rewatch Party. But our Twitter party is back and it's on Sunday 10th June, 11AM AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
This time, we are paying tribute to the awesome Sera Gamble and will be rewatching the following episodes.

1.12 Faith
5.13 The Song Remains the Same
7.23 Survival of the Fittest

These are all signature episodes by Sera Gamble. They are great examples of her brilliant writing, and demonstrating why she is one of the star writers of the show. As you may notice, they are episodes from different period of the show -- Faith in season one is one of the most foreshadowing episodes about Dean and his purpose and we witness the different side of Dean and Sam; The Song Remains the Same is the Back to the Future of Supernatural (it's epic!); and Survival of the Fittest is the last episode Sera writes for Supernatural.

So! This is what's going to happen if you are unfamiliar with our Twitter rewatch party.. We will be watching the episodes at the same time (so get your DVD or downloaded files ready, we will be doing a countdown to press the play button). We will be doing live tweets via Twitter. You are most welcome to join the conversation, that's really the point of the Twitter rewatch party. Oh.. and grab some munchies and drinks!

You can follow my accounts: Tiny; Tiny Panic Room; Tiny Flatbread (You must follow all accounts in case I go to Twitter jail.) You can also follow my friend AmyInSydney from Sweetondean, who is the co-organiser of this rewatch.

We are using the hashtag: #SeraGamble

So, be there or be square! Get your DVD or download ready and we'll see you this Sunday (10th June) at 11am AEST time on Twitter! Be sure to check your timezone.

While I have your attention, we will be announcing our Jeremy Carver rewatch a bit later. Watch this space!

Let the World's Biggest Nerd-Fest Begin

The world is never ready for a nerd's raw magnetism. The time has come again for nerds to gather and play. There is nothing more sad than not being able to attend. I am a new SDCC follower, I have only been following them for 3 years top, mainly due to Supernatural, Smallville etc.

Scream for us, boys and girls. We are going to bring the roof of Hall H down!

Last year, around 6,000 fans packed Hall H for Smallville and The Avengers. This year is Supernatural's turn. Today, a full SPN panel line up is revealed -- Jensen Ackles and Jarad Padalecki, Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Mark Sheppard with Sera Gamble (Executive Producer/ Showrunner) and Ben Edlund (Consulting Producer... interesting title) Source: Gather

It's like LACon all over again, except it's bigger and it's an official engagement! :)

I was talking to a friend on Twitter about the line up. Having Misha on the panel means Castiel is still an integral character to the show (I've never doubt that!). But 'upgrading' Mark to the SDCC panel could mean that Crowley is more than just a guest star punk-ass crossroad demon -- being on the SDCC panel reflects the importance of Crowley on the show. How? I don't know. I guess we'll know on Sunday.

And, it's weird that Eric Kripke is not part of the line up *pouty face*. Kripke is only going to be a Producer in season seven. I have no doubt Kripke is still acting like a consultant, Sera and Ben can always call him. Kripke is also working on his feature movie Haunted, which I am giving my 666% support! With Ben Edlund's new job title as the Consulting Producer, I think Sera will explain everything we need to know on Sunday.

In other news, Captain America will have a screening at SDCC on Thursday 21 July. Chris Evans will be there to introduce the film. It's been reported that The Avengers cast will be at the Marvel Booth at SDCC including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey, Jr., (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / The Hulk). Source: SF Chronicle

Speaking of Captain America, the premier happened last night in LA. Wow.. Chris Evans sure looks smart! RDJ and Hemsworth were also at the red carpet. Read the full report and more photos at Daily Mail.

You know I can't help it! I still think Jensen Ackles could've been Captain America, walking the red carpet *another pouty face*

One more thing, Zachary Levi (Chuck) has invited Jarpad to be on some sort of panel after the SPN panel on Sunday. I don't have much info and apparently all tickets have been sold out. Sources said Zachary is setting up a private conversation with stars from Firefly (I believe Adam, Alan and Jewel will be there!), Battlestar Gallatica, Stoopid Monkey and friends of Zac Levi (including Jarpad). I also think (don't quote me) Zachary Quinto and Scott Bakula will also be there. Not sure if there will be some sort of highlight reel or whatever, but follow Zac and his Nerd Machine for real-time details. You can also check out the Nerd Machine website for details.

Want more SDCC goodies? Here is a good summary on the 'top five can't miss events' at this year's SDCC. Zac's panel mentioned.

PS.. I have watched Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows. I will definitely watch it again and I will blog about it soon. I have quite a busy schedule in the next few weeks, but I'll sort my shit out and get those back-lot blog posts up.

Happy Wednesday everyone! :)

Comic Con 2010 - Best of Day 4 (Part II - Supernatural)

Holy Tiny! I have to finish the Comic Con write-up with Supernatural. So let's start the engine again.

[Beware of spoilers]

Supernatural season 6 is going to pay homage to season 1 with the monster of the week route and I am cool with it.

The show will pick up a year later with Dean living a normal life working at a construction site. Dean is living with Lisa and Ben, he has a homemade meal and falls a sleep in a normal bed every night. He is a family guy. I assume this is where Sam comes in, he has been hunting by himself for a year and Dean know nothing about it. Something is going to happen and they will be back on the road, saving people, hunting things, family business. Dean will try very hard to protect his family, Lisa and Ben included.

This season will have a lot of monsters and the show will revisit supernatural creatures like vampires and Djinn. Castiel is now the head cheese in Heaven. Bobby's demon deal with Crowley will continue to have a place in season 6. Clark Kent is not going to fly over Kansas and Dr Sheldon Cooper is not going appear as a guest-star to explain all things supernatural with a scientific perspective.

Onto the panel: Jensen kicked things off by introducing a clip of Weekend at Bobby's, directed by Jensen. I can't find a clip of the actual episode. I'm sure I'll find one later.

Jensen talks about season 6 and someone brought up Dean's shirt is tucked in. You will see other clips there.

Misha Collins talked about Castiel.

Let's go to the interviews. Yeah. Visual is good!

Jensen Ackles talks to Zap2It.

Misha Collins talked to BuzzFocus. He is so cute and honest!! We love Misha! Beware: Misha tells us nothing in the interview! Hehe.

At the signing by Buzz Focus:

Chris McLaughlin (TV PR guy at WB) has a good shot of the guys.

WinchesterBros has tones of photos.

There is a collective exclusive cast interview on
MovieWeb. The dude who asked Jensen when will he direct the movie, should really do his homework!!!!

There are tones of interviews and photos! Here are my source list. Beware of spoilers:

TV Squad has a collection of cast interview from the press room
Alice Jester interviewed Jensen Ackles
DigitalSpy has a live blog with the minute by minute notes
Clarissa and Jim Halterman have some really cool photos from the press room

Eyes popped. Brain fried. Time for bed.

Thanks for the visit.

Comic Con 2010 - Best of Day 4 (Part I - Smallville)

It's Smallville and Supernatural Super Big Day Out! I am so overwhelmed, I think this is probably the first time I don't know where to start. There are just so many information out there! I think it's only appropriate to have two parts of the day 3 write up.

Firstly let's look at Smallville.

Source: Seat42F

Fans camped out at Comic Con the night before the panel. (Wish I was the one selling coffee on site.) Let me just say this, the stuff that came out from the panel was massive! Seriously! The video montage was enough to send fans to cloud Krypton! This is one epic summary of the journey of Smallville from season 1 to 9. We also get to see a few shots of season 10.

I am relatively a new fan, I have only started watching the series about less than 2 years ago. It's a bit cheesy at times with the 90201 high school stuff, but once we move to Daily Planet from Smallville High, I began to love the show more. It's a great story about Clark becoming Superman.

[The Panel - Spoilers Alert!]

A lot of fans see season ten as the last season of Smallville. Rest assured, season ten will be jam-packed with goodies!!!! On returning characters, we will see the return of Papa Kent John Schneider (he was on stage too!);
Lionel Luther John Glover; Supergirl Laura Vandervoort; James Marsters, aka Milton Fine/ Braniac, and Justice Society members! What about Michael Rosenbaum? You'll know when you know! For whatever reasons that are holding back whoever is responsible, Lex has to come back to the show. The Producers are saying the door is open for Rosenbaum. So we will see.

On directing, Tom Welling is scheduled to direct two episodes this season, Justin Hartley will also direct one episode. It doesn't look like Alison Mack will be directing, she is still on the show but not full time.

OM-Tiny-G!
If the above are Cloud Nine happiness, the following information is sending me to Cloud Krypton! The suit as seen in the video clip is the same as the one used in Superman Returns (Let Welling play the role on the big screen already!!!!); Erica Durance is back as Lois for frekking 22 episodes; Geoff Johns is writing a Blue Beetle and Booster Gold story (I need to do homework on this one); the new villain for season 10 is Darkseid (homework!).

Last but not least... (and I am going to explode!) Clark will fly!

I can't help it! Tom hardly comes out! So I am collecting as many photos as possible!

Source: I found them on Fanpop. There are tones more there!

For a live blog/ minute by minute write up, Zap2It has it! Check it out here! For other sources, check out Superman Homepage & USA Weekend. And be sure to listen to SHoE (Starkville House of El)!!

MovieWeb has exclusive video interview of the cast, including Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman,
Laura Vandervoort and Kelly Sounders.

Stars arrived at the EW Syfy Party on Saturday night. Photos source:
