CW Fall Schedule 2013-2014; Supernatural Moves to Tuesdays

Before I went to bed last night, I was just having a chat with a few tweeps about the Fall Schedule, specifically the CW's schedule for Supernatural and Arrow. 

As I mentioned previously regarding Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (S.H.I.E.L.D), I thought it will be TV war between DC and Marvel if both S.H.I.E.L.D and Arrow are on the same night. But as turned out, there won't be one. S.H.I.E.L.D will be on Tuesday nights at 8pm on ABC, and Arrow will stay on Wednesday nights at 8pm on the CW. This is a very exciting TV schedule for fans of the movie franchise, original comics, geeks, Joss Whedon and Stephen Amell's much appreciated abs.

Speaking of Tuesday nights, the CW has announced that Supernatural will move to Tuesdays at 9pm with The Originals (The Vampire Diaries spin-off) at 8pm. I don't mind the move, but I would prefer Supernatural and Arrow to be on the same night. Having said that, it is a business decision. The established shows, Supernatural (Tuesdays), Arrow (Wednesdays) and The Vampire Diaries (Thursday) will pair up with a new buddy each -- The Originals (Tuesdays), The Tomorrow People (Wednesday) and Reign (Thursday). The CW plays to its strength -- Tuesday nights and Wednesday nights look hot and hot guys!

One thing for sure, Tuesday nights are good nights for TV and for the CW. As long as Supernatural gets good rating, I am happy. We need good rating to get season ten. Let's stick together as a fandom and make this happen!

The CW has a few new shows this season. The Tomorrow People could be a hit and miss. But it certainly looks epic on paper! And it's a great show to keep male audience after Arrow on Wednesday nights. I'll watch it for Mark Pellegrino for sure! Reign is the first period drama CW has ordered. I kinda see the Tudors thing happening here. Then again, it's not something I'll be jumping on the fan wagon immediately. Speaking of new shows, The 100 certainly looks interesting too. But it does belong to the same genre as The Tomorrow People. The 100 is introduced during the mid-season.

Since last fall, I have been watching then-new shows, Arrow and Revolution, I've been on and off with Once Upon A Time. I think this fall will be equally exciting! If I can't watch them all, I'll definitely be getting the DVDs.

[Update] Australian Viewers: ARROW on Channel Nine

So, I saw Channel Nine advertising Arrow last night during The Voice. It said Arrow is coming 'Wednesday week' after The Voice. So there you go! Why is it so hard to just say the DATE? May be it's a curse? What's with this 'Wednesday week' crap? 

Why is Channel Nine using the image of the Bank of China building in Hong Kong on the landing page of Arrow is beyond me! I get the whole Island thing is set in Lian Yu, somewhere in North China Sea, but then again...[I must not be rude...]

What's happening with The Following then? Not that I care, but it's going to be on the Tuesday slot.

Channel Nine better stick to the show. I hate to see Arrow being treated badly by the network.

I am very confused. Despite the announcement of the Australian premier date for Arrow on the Channel Nine Facebook page, it didn't happen last night! 

I am very confused. Today, when I looked at their Facebook page, fans are asking why. According to some comment, TV Guide actually advertised for time slot for Arrow too. But instead of airing Arrow, Channel Nine aired The Following. 

I am very confused. Why people in charge still have a job, is beyond me. Arrow deserves to be in a better network that respect viewers and actually try to promo their shows and stick to it, like Eleven.

No kidding. This is bad marketing. If the show is not ready to be aired for whatever reasons, don't advertise it. It's been six months since Channel Nine started advertising Arrow -- from one of the 'Must see TV dramas for 2013' to 'After Easter'. I saw the sneak peek last night on Channel Nine, I was excited but then I told my friends "they are not going to announce the date". My friends are not genre shows viewers, but they too notice the promo has been going on forever, they agree it looks like a great show. What's the hold up? 

It's like you've been engaged forever but never got married. Eventually you question the commitment and got pissed off and call off the engagement. Everything goes south!

I know how teasers work, but this is INSANE! Six months of promoting the show but without airing it, is just plain crazy. My point is, Channel Nine doesn't have to promo the show at all until they now for sure when to air it. One or two months top, may be, but six months? They are toying with their viewers. Eventually nobody cares or watches the show and then the network executives would say "well, that was a waste of money".

The network is doing great in promoting the show on TV (great clips) and on the web. It gets people excited for six months. Viewers are so intrigued about the show, they get to the point where they cannot wait and download it elsewhere on the internet. Good job for encouraging illegal download! 

I just read the Channel Nine Facebook page, silly really. It seems to me that Channel Nine just announced the air date while replying a comment on Facebook. It's the classic "oh btw.. yeah, it premiers on April 16 at 8:30pm." WHY WOULD YOU ANNOUNCE THE AIR DATE ON FACEBOOK LIKE THIS? Wow! Nothing makes sense to me anymore. And I shouldn't be the one who blog about the premier date! This marketing strategy is frustrating! You've been doing great promo, make the most of it and announce it probably!

Anyway, the air date is Tuesday, April 16 at 8.30pm, according to the Channel Nine Facebook page.

Arrow Coming to Australia's Channel Nine

Australia, Arrow is finally coming to free TV -- Channel Nine. I have been pretty excited for it since the end of last year when I saw Channel Nine playing the ad to promo Arrow. But they never announced the air date, they still haven't! But it's definitely happening AFTER EASTER! I hate this strategy with a passion.

Frigging hell! Just tell us already! I've watched enough TV on Aussie TV networks to know this -- it is known, if the rating sucks, they will chang date and time, or worst cancel it before you know it. I hope Channel Nine will stick with Arrow. 

The way Aussie TV networks schedule their programs with the 'hope for the best' and 'whatever' attitude astonish me! If you bought the show, stick with it! Glee is moved from Channel Ten (main network) to Channel Eleven (it's secondary/ HD network), and Channel Seven still hasn't announced the air date for Once Upon A Time.  

Supernatural is pretty well supported by Channel Eleven because fans fought for it. It has a fix time and Channel Eleven actually tells us when it's back and when it's back, they stick to the Monday 8:30pm time slot. Eleven is doing a great job in building Monday nights as the horror nights -- we got Supernatural, American Horror Story and I hope they will bring Begin Human back, which usually happens after a season run of Supernatural. When there is no Supernatural or AHS, Eleven will put on horror movies. 

Anyway, I hope Australia will like Arrow because I do. 

And I hate to see Stephen Amell to get famous in Australia for something else other than Arrow, because he is really good at Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow. He was born to play this role. And I hope he doesn't do the career-ruining 50 Shades movie.

Hello Earthling, if you are reading this, it means the world didn't end. The CW has some pretty lazy (in terms of photo shoots) but still hot Happy Holidays promotional posters for fans. You would think that the CW will use more cheerful photos? Like Dean eating pies or something..

Both Supernatural and Arrow will return on January 16, 2013 on The CW.

I don't know about you but I am dying for some new promotional pics of Jensen Ackles/ Dean Winchester! How hard is it to get a photographer and book a studio to do a new photo shoot? DO IT!

TV Shows: Who Stays And Who Goes?

TVByTheNumbers has a great article about TV network's business model and which shows they think will go and stay. 

It's a very early stage, but any good signs are good signs! All my favorites are looking great for a renewal! These shows include Supernatural, Revolution, Arrow, New Girl, Glee and Once Upon A Time, plus The Big Bang Theory has already been renewed. HBO's A Game of Thrones should get a full ride to season four, I hope they have at least six seasons! The Song of Ice and Fire is a big series! 

Also by looking at this list, JJ Abrams, Eric Kripke and Ryan Murphy own/ create/ exec produce two shows each -- Supernatural/ Revolution for Kripke; Revolution/ Person of Interest for Abrams; Glee/The New Normal for Murphy. Abrams also has Fringe, which is on its last season and Murphy has American Horror Stories, which is apparently a mini-series. Whatever! Did you spot others? Let me know.

On something completely different, but depends on how you look at it. EW has named Joss Whedon 'Winner of the Decade". This is how they justify it. I do not disagree! I think Joss and his work are awesome. With the up-coming TV series S.H.I.E.L.D, Joss' cult status is going to go off the planet! He deserves it! Seeing I am also a big fan of the Kripke Master.. the 'Winner of the Next Decade' should be Eric Kripke. Just saying!

I cannot wait to watch S.H.I.E.L.D!

Last Week On TV - Supernatural 'Bitten'; Arrow 'Lone Gunman'; NBC 'Today'; CNN's Anderson Cooper

I didn't miss Supernatural 8.04 Bitten and Arrow 1.3 Lone Gunman. In fact I got back to the hotel earlier than usual to catch Arrow and Supernatural. I had the BEST BURGER EVER IN MY LIFE! Thank you Shake Shack, your Shack Stack was amazing, I cannot get over how yummy it was! The 'shroom' is hands down the best thing a burger joint can cook. 

Supernatural's Bitten was pretty good. Jensen talked about this episode a bit during the Chicon Breakfast. There are a lot of criticism and also a lot of love from fans. The show has to take risks and think outside the square. I love that fact that Supernatural does and not afraid to go creative. As much I love to see more Dean and Sam, it wasn't all bad to see a group of teenagers doing their own investigation the Cloverfield way. And through that, we witnessed the transformation of werewolves. The story was revealed to us from a different perspective. The documentation of the process of werewolves transformation reminded me a little bit about The Fly, the movie. It is one of those most-debated episodes, I think mainly because Dean and Sam weren't in the episode much, but the story wasn't bad. But if I am turning into a werewolf or my friend is, I am not sure if I will document it. My first impression was that it was a weak episode -- forgetful yes, but not a bad episode at all. Good effort! Other than that, Bitten still holds a special in my heart because I don't often get to watch a live Supernatural episode on my TV with East Coast viewers. And it was great to watch Dean on my screen during this time.

What happened in Arrow that week? Lone Gunman was pretty cool! He revealed his secret to Diggle. I didn't see that coming at all, at least not this soon. Considering Chloe or Pete didn't know about Clark's secret until later in Smallville. But I like it! And I like the introduction of Felicity, who really reminds me of Lucius Fox in Batman and the Watch Tower Chloe. The only deadshot I know was from Smallville, but I like Arrow's take on it. Speaking of Arrow, there are loads of Arrow street ads in New York and Chicago. I've taken a few photos. Watch this space for more!!! Here is one on Michigan Ave. 


While I was in New York, I was hoping to get up early to go to the NBC Studios at Rockefeller to catch all the live action during The Today Show. I did go, but not until in the afternoon. LOL! But it's my holiday habit to turn on the TV and watch NBC as I woke up. It's always good to watch the local news and weather. 

When I was in Chicago, I turned to CNN. Timing could not work out better! I left New York a few before the Super Storm, and I got into Chicago without trouble. When I planned my trip, I thought about going to New York after the convention in Chicago. Lucky I didn't go with this plan!!! Very lucky!! And also very lucky that the weather was all good during my transit to Chicago for the convention. Should Sandy hit earlier, I might not be able to make it to Chicago.   

Not that I was in the hotel all the time, but whenever I turned on the TV, Anderson Cooper was always there!! Does he sleep at all? I mean, the coverage has been brilliantly and I do appropriate how hard journalists work during horrible events such as Sandy to bring us stories. I hope everyone can get some sleep. 

I also caught an episode of Chicago Fire and Park Avenue 666. Park Avenue 666 didn't grab me at all. Chicago Fire has potential, it looks like one of those shows that Australia will love. I hope it will air in Australia soon.

I also managed to finish the entire season of Smash during my flight to New York. Thank you Qantas!!! The last few episodes weren't too bad. I try not to be too negative about the story line, but it is not one of the best things ever on TV. In fact, the only reason I keep watching it is because I WANT this to pick itself up and show me something epic. And it should be epic. This show should have been great. But Smash fell short in many ways I cannot even bother to write about. When I compare Glee and Smash, I know why Glee was so much better. It connects with viewers, the characters are more interesting, the songs are great, the stories are better. There is always something I like about each episode. I hope season two of Smash will be better. PS -- I am finally convinced to download Let Me Be Your Star.

This Week in TV - Revolution; OUAT; Merlin; NBC's Today

I am loving FALL TV. Have I mentioned it before? This is probably the first time I am actually loving the TV season. There are so many great shows to watch! I have only just managed to watch last week's Revolution! There are still a few shows pending on the to-watch list, including Being Human (US), The Walking Dead, Falling Skies and Glee. Thank goodness, A Game of Thrones is not out until March.

Revolution -- The Plague Dogs was pretty awesome. I've known for awhile that Anne Cofell Saunders is on the team. She served as a producer and writer on Smallville. I was surprised that I shed a tear. My first for Revolution!! I do cry during TV and movies, but considering I didn't cry for Supernatural until season two, Lost and Chuck until the series finale, I am very surprised that I cried this early for Revolution! And I never paid much attention to Maggie! Why am I so emotional? I think when I cry for a show, it means something is working for me, something is touching me. And all of the sudden, it's personal! It means something to me. 

I thought the story of Maggie was ok, however the way it was delivered, totally got it! The way they tell her story through the direction, the dialogues and Anna Lise Phillips' performance really moved me. Maggie's death scene was touching, thanks for the brilliant editing work. Before she closed her eyes, we cut back to her and her kids in flashback. As the camera pulled out, we cut back to her dying. That was so Gladiator. That's how they constructed the Maximus' death scene. And we saw Charlie crying and hugged by Miles. Oh that was good! Very good!

The only thing that could've worked better for me is that that it should've focused on one character's flashback rather than having multiple storylines, it is a bit too much. Like, Maggie's story should've been the focus, but we also see Rachel and that creepy guy with the dogs. I hate his dogs, they remind me the wolves in The Day After Tomorrow. They scare me. I love seeing Rachel. She is SO Juliet! But I love it! She made me cry! I like how Miles was the one to call her in, but we still don't know why.

One more thing on Revolution for the week, I think Tracy Spiridakos is getting better. I think this is her best performance so far. I think she definitely has this strong female character thing going on. And I think Nate totally has a crush on her! 

Once Upon A Time -- I almost didn't give up on Seven (a TV network in Australia) but I totally did because they are just oh-so-slow on bringing back one of my TV shows. This week's OUAT also made me cry! The Emma and Snow relationship is so good to watch! I love the fact that Emma came out and confronted Snow about her feelings and said she wasn't used to other people putting her first. I love that Emma gets to see how hard her mother fought for her and how strong Snow is as a fighter. Goodbye Mary Margaret! It was a great thing to see Emma and Snow went back to the Castle, where Emma was born, as depicted on Henry's book.

I also love the Grandpa-Grandson dynamic of Henry and Charming. I knew what I said about David in season one. Goodbye David! But now that he isn't weak anymore, I am digging Charming! I love seeing Jefferson on my screen! I love Seb Stan! I also think that perhaps Regina is in LaLaLand! Why is she acting so normal? She is an Evil Queen! So BE an Evil Queen! Stir up some drama! This got me thinking. What's Regina's deal? There is no way she is becoming good, right? What will happen when her mother is here? It's more than likely than not that her mother and Regina will confront each other again! 

Merlin -- Shut up! I do watch it despite many things in questions. I mean.. why does Merlin say "hello" and "OK"? But I do watch it if it's on my TV. Evil Bitch Morgana is so good to watch. She is probably the only good thing about the show, in terms of drama. Was it just me or did you also ask yourself, "Wait a second, am I watching A Game of Thrones?" The snow, the wolf, the darkness and Davos (Liam Cunningham). I mean, it's probably good for the show, I know it's written as a family show but when it has the darkness in it, I like it. It gives the show the depth that I like. Hint I like Morgana, because evil is good to watch and she is a good villain of the story!

NBC's Today & Meet The Press -- I have been watching the NBC's TODAY Show lately. I guess perhaps my trip is coming up and I want to see what people wear. It's definitely not that cold, which is good! I see a Revolution poster in shot, it must be located just outside the NBC Studio/ Store. I love the Store. I went there like three times last time. Don't ask! OK.. ask!! I love all the Chuck merchandise!!! 

What's interesting on the NBC's Meet The Press is that they have their usual roundtable, and they have been focusing on the Presidential Campaign. So this morning they talked foreign policy and all that. But David Gregory also interviewed Stephen Colbert where he talked about his satire and his character, and his purpose being being a 'funny' man. It's definitely a totally different ballgame and media landscape. I never really realise how much Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart could influence viewers on politics and current affair, especially young voters -- how they get the 'news' and 'opinions'. What's interested and it's been stuck on my mind the whole day is that Colbert said about his satire:

"...There's a political industrial complex that is not only raising money but that is built around making money off of the fact that there is so much money in politics, and that there are almost no rules."

Colbert also said satire always has a point. It's not just pointless silly comedy. 

I don't normally pay attention to politics, but I find myself in a different position the past 12 months, whether it be Australia or US politics. SHIT! Is this a sign?? I am growing up?

Before I go, just wanted to let you know that I am offsite for a few weeks. So don't freak if you don't see me blogging as I will have limited internet access. Arrow -- The Series Premiere Review

This Week in TV -- ARROW: The Series Premiere 

Every now and then, the press and TV critics will come to an agreement that a great show is born. From what I can see, the press and TV critics are unanimous about ARROW. I have been told by those who have seen the Pilot that I am going to love it! The CW and DC have been doing a great job in promoting the show. In recent weeks, I see nothing but positive feedback from the media. There is so much love for this show already. On Twitter, EW calls ARROW not only it is "the network’s best new show, it’s also one of the the best freshman fall shows." When the series premiere aired on Wednesday and it was the number one trending topic on Twitter.

ARROW is a show that I have been dying to watch because I like Justin Hartley's Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen (Smallville) enough to check out this show. I think ARROW has an existing fanbase, and The CW has been keen to hold on to Smallville…I mean, hold on to audience who are comic book fans, males and females! I mean, Stephen Amell is a hottie. The show has the 'the girls are gonna love him and the guys will want to have a Amell six-pack' vibe to it. It is a VERY COOL SHOW! If there must be a comparison, ARROW is closer to Batman Begin than Smallville.

The Pilot was directed by David Nutter. It is written by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim (story), and Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim (teleplay). David Nutter is a legend, he has directed many awesome shows including Smallville, Dark Angel, Roswell, Supernatural and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. You may know Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim (Green Lantern) and Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe). A few familiar names are also attached to the show in some capacity. Guy Bee (Supernatural) has directed an episode and Geoff Johns has also written for an episode already.

Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC -- who penned a number of mind-blowing episodes for Smallville including Absolute Justice (season nine) -- has written episode seven for ARROW. This episode will feature Huntress, I have no idea who she is. This is great news, right? Geoff Johns is the king of geeks, and he knows his stuff.  He always known for reviving/ re-introducing characters such as Hawkman, Dr Fate, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. So I'd be interested to find out more about Huntress. I don't know too much about comics, as I have mentioned it on a number of occasion, but whenever I see his name attached to Smallville, he made headlines. I see how exciting the fans and the press were. So it is a big deal to see Geoff Johns writing for ARROW. In fact, I'd be surprised if the producers didn't ask him to collaborate for ARROW. His contribution is a sign that the show has tremendous support from DC. It's a great thing!

Another thing I am looking forward to is Katie Cassidy. I always like her portrayal as the Original Ruby in Supernatural, I have seen a bit of her in Gossip Girl, 90210 and New Girl, I think while these roles are not great, but her performance is always sharp. I think ARROW is her best role to date and I can't wait to see her shine as Laurel Lance/ Black Canary. Laurel totally has the Rachel Dawes vibe. But she'd kick Katie Holmes' ass. She is Black Canary and I hope we will get to see that on the show. At the end of the episode, when Laurel has this smirk on her face, I was kinda half-expecting to get a hint of her being a superhero too. But I don't think we will see that just yet.

What about the new Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen, Stephen Amell? I admit, I have not heard of him before and I certainly not seen Hung or Private Practice, and I was one of those people who think Justin Hartley should carry on as Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen. But it is what is it. I was actually very reserved about the casting. But boy, am I wrong?! I am sold! Stephen Amell is brilliant as Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen in ARROW. It's amazing to see how convincing he is as Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen. The acting, the action, the look, the bow and arrow skills, the whole package. When he came on my screen, I nodded and said, "YUP! HE IS GREEN ARROW!!" Hey, I like Hawkeye/Barton, but I think Green Arrow/ Queen will kick his ass if they get into a fight.

Other few quick thoughts on the Pilot:

-- Paul Blackthorne (The Dresden Files) as Quentin Lance -- I knew he looked familiar!

-- Random Docter -- He is Hiro Kanagawa aka Mr Nuttercracker Game Show Host from Supernatural's Changing Channels

-- Oliver's mother, Moira (Susanna Thompson) -- She totally has the Angela Petrelli or Lionel Luther vibe.

-- The Island as Purgatory -- I love that, especially when Purgatory is a prominent location on Supernatural.

-- The cast has good chemistry. However, Thomas and Speedy are not working for me yet. And I LIKED Speedy in Smallville. Not sure if it's the same Speedy.

-- The Queen's Housekeeping -- Will she become 'Alfred' one day for Oliver?

-- I like the fact that everyone is treating Oliver like an idiot, but he is kicking ass when they don't see it.

-- The soundtrack -- I hope they stick to this soundtrack, which I like very much. It took me awhile to get used to the pop songs as featured on Smallville, especially in the earlier seasons. There isn't anything wrong with using pop songs, but let's not make it too 90210.

-- The Queen Mansion -- I swear that's like the Luthor Mansion. The show is shot in Vancouver, so perhaps they use the Smallville's old set. Source: GreenArrowTV.

My first impression of ARROW is that this show GOT IT. Stephen Amell GOT IT. Katie Cassidy GOT IT! The dialogues, story and action GOT IT! This show has it all. ARROW is a lot darker than Lois and Clark, and Smallville. It looks very mature from the get-go. It has the Batman Begin vibe. Stephen Amell is as cool as Christian Bale, but there is something very warm about Amell. May be because I am following him on Twitter? The Pilot was brilliant! Very smooth! It sets up the story nicely. It almost looks like a movie. And this Pilot should've been a two-hour premiere if it was up to me!

I think Oliver Queen is very well established in the Pilot. There is not confusion about his character, he has a plan, he knows what he wants. He is very cool headed and he is very similar to Batman/ Bruce Wayne in a way. Unlike Superman/ Clark Kent or Chuck Bartowski, Green Arrow has no problem in killing bad guys. I hope ARROW's Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen won't go through the same angst and depression as Justin Hartley's character on Smallville. I would rather not see this again. I get the whole hero's complex thing, but I guess we will see if and when that happens on ARROW. Stephen Amell's Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen is a lot cooler than I expect. He has this look on his face and it's stone cold sometimes when he is in his Green Arrow mode. And his interpretation is A LOT cooler than Justin Hartley's Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen, who was a lot more relax and very upfront with his playboy, smartass personality the first time he appeared on Smallville. Amell's performance is what ARROW needs. I wonder if his contract say he has to go topless in every episode like Captain Awesome and Justin Hartley?

Superhero movies are no strangers to the theatres, audience love them, but their chance of survival is very slim on the small screen. Smallville was the only long standing television drama in recent years. Didn't somebody try to do Wonder Woman? Other popular superheroes such as Superman, Spiderman and Batman are all off limit for TV creators, unless they are animation. The CW's decision to do ARROW is a smart move. The network has the fanbase and ARROW can bring back those who stuck with Smallville all these years. The show can attract fans who appreciate a good superhero story, regardless whether it be on a big screen or small screen. I think ARROW marks another fresh era of live action superhero shows on TV. And don't forget, Joss Whedon is also working his magic for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. These shows will set the trend for the next few years! As DC and Marvel go head-to-head and bring the fight from the big screen to the small screen, the entertainment only get bigger and better and fans will benefit from it the most. Both DC and Marvel will continue to dominate the big and small screen, and tell others to suck it! The next decade belongs to the fans.

In summary, I will go as far as saying, I love the ARROW Pilot slightly more than Revolution. I am glad ARROW happens. I love it already! It's a winner!

SUPER-ARROW Wednesday; SPN 'BITTEN' Pics & Episode Titles Update; Arrow's Series Premiere

Damn! This is the first SUPER-ARROW Wednesday ever on the CW. Wednesday (Thursday Aussie time) is my favorite day of the week! Arrow and Supernatural are like TV brothers now.

Arrow series premieres on Wednesday, October 10. The buzz is epic, I think the marketing team is doing an amazing job. I am not a comic book person, but I'd be interested to see the digital comic of Arrow from the pop culture perspective and see how this campaign works. On Wednesday, DC is launching a companion digital comic book to expand the show's mythology. A very smart strategy! For TV fans such as myself (not a comic book fan), watching Smallville was the first time I was exposed to Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen. I'd be interested to see how Stephen Amell interprets Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/ Black Cannery and how good the pilot is. I cannot wait!!! 

What's more exciting about Arrow is that, David Nutter and Guy Bee are attached to the directing jobs so far. And he has great things to say about it! Guy is one of my favorite directors, and David Nutter is one of the most prolific directors around. In Nutter and Bee, I trust!

Joss Whedon Returns For More Marvel Stuff

This is the news fans, including myself, have been waiting for. It has been confirmed last week by Marvel Studios that Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with the studios for film and television for the next 3 year. He will write and direct The Avengers 2, and will help develop a new live television series for Marvel TV at ABC.

We know Joss was thinking about it and wasn't sure. But news about his involvement in The Avengers 2 is welcoming, I am so happy I am going to cry. Quality is ensured. Happiness is guaranteed!

It's no secret that Marvel's next phase is to extend their presence in television. Joss' creative contribute will possibly set television history for the next decade or more. Imgaine if a Marvel television series is picked up and do a 'Smallville' (i.e. run 10 years), it will make fans very happy and entertainment is endless! It is also interesting to note that ABC is having success with Once Upon A Time, so they definitely have an existing audienceship of family viewers and they will have no trouble attracting other fans to watch Joss' creation.The CW is capturing that superhero fanbase of WB/ DC as Arrow takes the center stage in Fall. Healthy competition is good and it's the fans who will benefit from the superhero genre. Move over cop and medical dramas!

It's been awhile since Joss has a television project, so whatever Joss is doing, it will excite fans in ways we have not been excited before. Yeah.. I said it.

Comic Con goodies -- Revolution & Arrow get limited edition collectible hotel keycards

Warner Bros has been doing this for a few years to promote their TV shows on a series of limited edition collectible hotel keycards which will be used by participating hotels at Comic Con. This year, three of their new shows will get the special promo -- Revolution, Arrow and 666 Park Avenue.

If you are not going to Comic Con, you may be able to the limited edition collectible hotel keycards on eBay. Just saying...

Fans can watch the full-length pilots of both Revolution and Arrow at the Warner Bros. Television’s Preview Night screening at Comic-Con on Wednesday, July 11, or during the show's panel sessions -- Arrow on Friday July 13; and Revolution on Saturday July 14.

J2 at The CW Up Fronts Green Carpet; Supernatural Moves to Wednesdays With a New Partner in Crime (Fighting), Arrow

Supernatural is finally out of purgatory!

When Smallville and Supernatural were on the same nights, that was pretty epic for a TV schedule -- whether it was a way to attract more male audience or not, and not that I tuned in in real time (because I don't live in the States.. And don't ask me where I live, I'd probably tell you I live in a shoebox in the middle of the road with high speed internet access). Jensen Ackles + Jarpad + Tom Welling = radioactive hottest!

So, hot off the press.. The CW has announced their Fall TV schedule, they are pairing up Arrow (8pm) and Supernatural (9pm) for Wednesdays! I don't know about you, but that's a very good night of entertainment for fans who love superhero and supernatural stuff! Supernatural was on Tuesdays, then Thursdays and Fridays...now on Wednesdays...Supernatural season nine will probably be on Mondays? Oh wait...what...season nine? (You never know!)

Arrow is one of those shows I am kind of excited about. It could turn out like Smallville or the other way, The Cape. But I hope it sticks around, because I think TV needs superheroes. So when is Marvel making the Avenger TV series.. or something? The thing I am excited about Arrow is Katie Cassidy, (Ruby 1.0 in Supernatural.) AWESOME!

Friday nights are usually a dead spot for TV shows, it's purgatory. I think when the CW (cough cough Dawn Ostroff) moved Supernatural to Friday nights, a lot of fans were scared. I don't know about you, but I think the CW new boss Mark Pedowitz shows a lot of support to Supernatural. The show laughed in the face of death, they have defied gravity and KICKED IT IN THE ASS! Anyhoo, Supernatural will return in October instead of September. And in October, I will be in the States!!! WOOT WOOT
