Review: Supernatural 'Freaks and Geeks'
The Apple Dumpling Gang! I don't know how Dean came to make that reference. Same way he made any other references, I guess.
After Adventure in Babysitting, it was a matter of time Krissy would pop up again. Her teenage thing was very teenager-y, which was a good thing to have on the show because it added diversity. Apart from Dean and Sam, other supporting/ regular character is very unique. I appreciate the creative process a lot more after I started watching...never mind. I say this very often but I am going to say it again -- the writers of Supernatural are still taking me to writing school after all these years!
Freaks and Geeks was a good episode with some good character development. It was just the kind of solid filler episode we needed in between Goodbye Stranger and Taxi Driver, which have high emotional intensity. I welcome a filler episode, in fact, I think I need to watch Plucky or something with Garth in it to calm myself before next week's Taxi Driver -- "Are you talking to me?"
Freaks and Geeks gave us an insight into the hunters community. The story focused on human and their motifs. It's a very rare kind of episode for Supernatural, but it's good to see the writers haven't forgotten what Supernatural is about -- a drama about people. It's one of those things that I love about the storytelling technique of Supernatural. We all know why Dean and Sam got into hunting at a young age. The show focuses on their perspectives. Through out the series other hunters are introduced, they too have their reasons for becoming hunters. Freaks and Geeks explored this angle by involving Victor who was a very confused guy about what was right and wrong. Thank goodness the brothers came to the rescue, saved the day and the kids.
Awhile ago, I discussed my thoughts about how Supernatural is constructing a strong supporting gang. We don't have to label it, but Dean and Sam being the hybrid of the Men of Letters and elite hunters, they ARE building their own Justice League, X Men and Avengers! Right? We have the humans -- Garth, Charlie, Kevin, Jody and Krissy. We have the supernatural beings -- Castiel, Benny, witches and Meg. It's known that Supernatural has a thing about killing their cast. But not this season (not yet anyway)! I think Krissy's story fits right in perfectly. Her father was a hunter, who was killed by a vampire. Krissy was part of someone else's agenda. She is smart, she has the skills and the potentials to become a very good hunter, but she has the freedom to choose her own destiny.
Supernatural is not a horror or fantasy show, it's about people and humanity. What makes human 'human' is our ability to identify what's right and wrong. Sometimes other people guide us into the right and wrong direction. Other time we have to figure things out ourselves. If we look at the brothers' character stuff, this is how I see it.
The first half of the series focused on the brothers growing up, finding their own identities, they were supported by a bunch of Obiwon/ Yoda like characters (John, Bobby and Ellen) who were mentors and elders to them. And then the brothers met new friends and foes along the way that challenged their perspectives. The brothers found themselves in crazy situations, and the only way to get things done -- saving people, hunting things -- was to use everything Dad taught them. Most situations they got themselves into changed their lives and perspectives forever. They'd gone through a very sad, dark and lonely period, and both Dean and Sam had their way of overcoming these emotions. In season six and seven, the brothers went through a major transition period. After everyone and everything had been taken away from them, the brothers were completely destroyed emotionally. But like Fawkes, they were reborn from the ashes.
And now, in season eight, a very mature period in the history of the show, the brothers have taken on a new role. They are still the Dean and Sam we know, but there's more. I think they are maturing into leaders and I can't think of any other hunters in the business who are experienced and good enough to take on that role. And we really see a bit of this in Freaks and Geeks.
What I love about this episode is the way Dean's mentality is written -- hunting wasn't always about revenge. After everything he had been through, Dean has definitely evolved from the 'they are monsters, we want them dead, they want us dead' phase. There is definitely no more 'if it's supernatural, we kill it, end of story.' Dean is still very Dean, but I think he's matured. He is still the cowboy, but he is also a man of reasons, which clearly differentiates Dean from other hunters such as Martin and Gordon who only sought revenge.
I think what's interesting to me is that, it'd always been someone like Bobby who gave Dean and Sam guidance. The brothers do their own things and they save people, end of story. Now we see the brothers took on this mentor role unknowingly and past on some wisdom to the younger folks. Freaks and Geeks definitely show more of what Dean is capable in doing as a mature hunter, a mentor, a thinker, a protector. I think Dean cares a lot about people (sometimes too much) -- Sam, close friends or innocent people. Freaks and Geeks definitely showed that side of Dean. And Dean is definitely becoming this guy who is a (hot) father figure to the younger generation of hunters, and he doesn't even know it! Unlike Dean, Sam still reckons it's still possible to be hunter and have a normal life, and I think this idea won't leave Sam as long as he is alive.
Next week's Taxi Driver is going to be epic and intense! It's going to be epic and intense. Have I mentioned it? Epic and intense?

Arrow Coming to Australia's Channel Nine
Australia, Arrow is finally coming to free TV -- Channel Nine. I have been pretty excited for it since the end of last year when I saw Channel Nine playing the ad to promo Arrow. But they never announced the air date, they still haven't! But it's definitely happening AFTER EASTER! I hate this strategy with a passion.
Frigging hell! Just tell us already! I've watched enough TV on Aussie TV networks to know this -- it is known, if the rating sucks, they will chang date and time, or worst cancel it before you know it. I hope Channel Nine will stick with Arrow.
The way Aussie TV networks schedule their programs with the 'hope for the best' and 'whatever' attitude astonish me! If you bought the show, stick with it! Glee is moved from Channel Ten (main network) to Channel Eleven (it's secondary/ HD network), and Channel Seven still hasn't announced the air date for Once Upon A Time.
Supernatural is pretty well supported by Channel Eleven because fans fought for it. It has a fix time and Channel Eleven actually tells us when it's back and when it's back, they stick to the Monday 8:30pm time slot. Eleven is doing a great job in building Monday nights as the horror nights -- we got Supernatural, American Horror Story and I hope they will bring Begin Human back, which usually happens after a season run of Supernatural. When there is no Supernatural or AHS, Eleven will put on horror movies.
Anyway, I hope Australia will like Arrow because I do.
And I hate to see Stephen Amell to get famous in Australia for something else other than Arrow, because he is really good at Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow. He was born to play this role. And I hope he doesn't do the career-ruining 50 Shades movie.
Revolution Returns - Kripke Speaks!
So, after how months, Revolution is back on Monday 25 March on NBC. It has been a long hiatus, but if I can survive the hiatus of Game of Thrones, I can survive any hiatus! I think the show is interesting and it has a lot of potential. I support genre, I support Eric Kripke, I love Elizabeth Mitchell.
Kripke recently gave a great interview about Revolution and the possibility of bringing in Jim Beaver and Misha Collins in as guest stars. He also mentioned that Mark Pellegrino will be back. I am excited! Can he bring Rob Benedict, Matt Cohen and Richard Speight Jr to guest star too? Anyone who is dead on Supernatural basically! They can be the Ben Linus, Daniel Faraday and Desmond Hume on Revolution.
You can read the interview on IGN.
Also a big shout out to my friend Nicole at TV For The Rest Of Us for her articles about Revolution and the recent webisodes.

Review: Supernatural 'Goodbye Stranger'
"We are family. We need you. I need you."
Dean Winchester
Thank goodness Supernatural is back and my life is back to some sort of order. I have been so looking forward to watching Goodbye Stranger. Part of me was excited, but part of me was scared. I was excited because I knew this episode would be epic and intense, I was very much looking forward to the development of the story and the return of Megstiel. Shut up! I was scared because I knew Dean and Cas would have some sort of confrontation that was bloody. If my favourite musical taught me anything, Cas has been changed for good because he knew Dean. Dean has re-written Cas' life by being his friend. This is something Naomi would never understand, no matter how many times Cas has killed Dean during his training session. The last time we saw Cas causing a catastrophic annihilation was when he killed the angels in Meet the New Boss. The opening scene of Goodbye Stranger certainly has the same effect. But you and I both knew, Cas would never kill Dean, but it was the 'how' that intrigued me the most.
There are so many things to talk about. Let me start by talking about the confrontation between Dean and Cas a bit more. The opening scene certainly set the tone for the episode extremely well. Ever since A Slice of Kevin, I have been asking myself, what would happen when Dean found out about Naomi who had been controlling Cas? I was wondering if Dean would go all 'I can't believe you are lying to me again', but I prefer him not to, otherwise it'd be season six all over again. I was wondering if Cas would continue to be controlled and lie to Dean, but I prefer not to as I don't want this to drag longer than it should. I wanted an ending to this particular part of the story.
I think Jeremy Carver is doing really good with the structure of the overall story, he has been giving us small arcs, solving them, and then giving us enough to move forward to the next arc. It's very Kripke like. Turned out, Naomi needed her best soldier to be re-programed and trained to do his job. Angels were soldiers, as Cas had told us in Are You There God, It's Me, Dean Winchester. I like the progression of this part of the story, it was a nice call back to the previous seasons and the angel mytho. It also moved things along to the next phase of the story. I think Robbie Thompson put his heart and soul into writing this episode and I love that. There wasn't a dull moment from the moment the episodes started. This episodes have plenty of great lines and pop culture references.
The way Cas and Dean confronted each other was epic. I am really proud of Cas, he resisted and defied Naomi the same way he responded to Zachariah in Lucifer Rising when Cas chose Dean over heaven. That scene, to me, was life-changing for Cas because of Dean. After everything that had happened since season six, after everything Cas had experienced emotionally, this was what these friends had come to -- they are family, they need each other. Yes, Cas had made Dean very angry with all the betrayals and lies, but I think Dean was pissed because Cas could've come to Dean for help -- 'why didn't you talk to me if you were confused?' 'why did you not ask for my help when you needed it the most?' -- it wasn't the case of the simple 'oh you bastard, you lie to me' like a ten year old. I think Cas wanted to experience his humanity independently without anyone telling him how to think and what to do, and he thought he was doing the right thing. But he didn't realise how complicated human emotions were and he screwed up. What saved Cas was Dean's persistence as a friend. Dean never gave up on Cas, he saved his friend from darkness, Purgatory and confusion. Naomi had underestimated the depth of BFF!
Life won't be the same again for Cas now that the angel tablet is in his possession. Cas still feels incredible guilty but he will have time to process his feelings. Cas continues to intrigue me because he brings different perspectives and dynamic to the show. I can't wait to see the next chapter and how Cas' role will progress with the highly valuable angel tablet. The closing scene with Supertramp's Goodbye Stranger symbolised the very human side of Cas. It was somewhat very poetic too. The song was about a guy not wanting a relationship. You and I know, this won't the last time we see this angel of the lord.
So, what do you think about Naomi? One thing for sure, she doesn't take crap from Crowley. I like that she just walked away when Crowley was about to propose a deal. Working with demons were unclean. What role will she play when Metatron makes his appearance before the season ends? This isn't be the last time we see Naomi, she will return in 8.19 Taxi Driver. I don't think she will give up on finding Cas and the angel tablet. She is going to keep an eye on Dean and Sam, because they are her only link for finding Cas and the angel tablet. I like Naomi as a character on the show, I think she is a mystery box and she is the kind of character the writers want to keep in the side pocket. I like the balance between the leaders of Angel (Naomi) and Demon (Crowley), and Dean, Sam and Cas are smack in the middle of it.
Can we talk about Megstiel? Do you think she is really dead? May be Cas went back and heal her? I have sent a few tweets about this -- is it weird that I love Meg and Cas together? It's so totally wrong but it's so intriguing and…cute! I love how flirtatious Cas and Meg had been since Caged Heat. The pizza man reference was hilarious! But there is more to this relationship and this is how I interpret it. Meg has been, and I quote my friends on Twitter, the most consistent female character on the show. I add, she is one of the most underrated characters on the show. She has been around since season one, she has been super bad. She was doing all sorts of bad things to survive. She chose the right leaders to follow to ensure her own survival. But they were all defeated by the same people -- Dean and Sam.
So Meg considered herself 'good'. It's complicated, like she said. Meg turned to the fighting with the 'good side' -- the Winchesters and the angel -- because she wanted to be free. This has been a recurring theme for awhile -- putting humanity into monsters and see what happened. I won't say fans would now all forgive what Meg did to Ellen and Jo in Abandon All Hope. But she wasn't Ruby and she wasn't pretentious like Ruby. She was the second in charge for many big bads including Lucifer and Yellow Eyed, and they lost. I think Cas changed her way of thinking. May be part of her believed that she can be saved by the angel. This is weird, but this is her way being in love with Cas and the idea of being free. She did refer Cas as 'my unicorn'. After Sam told her his story, she connected her own emotional experience and it was very Cas influenced.
Rachel is tiny. |
Let's talk about Sam. I was half expected Dean will go super angry on Sam when he found out about Sam coughing out blood and didn't tell him. Not super angry anyway, I think Dean understood why Sam lied to him. Dean knew all along this won't be easy and Dean knew Sam wasn't doing great, he just didn't know what. Dean just came straight out and said no more lies. And Sam was honest about his condition. He just didn't want his big brother to worry.
One moment please... |
Crowley was super Crowley in this episode. Mark Sheppard was just so good to watch on screen. His one-liners were awesome and you have to be stoned to write his lines! I really like that fact that Crowley isn't like Lucifer or Yellow Eyed Demon or Lillith. Crowley is a businessman and an opportunist, and he knows how to do business. He is smart and he loves to talk. He is a lover. Yeah right! But seriously he is good. He is really good! What will he do now?
I think Goodbye Stranger was a very important and super solid episode. This wrapped the middle act I think. And now, with six episodes to go before season eight ends, I think we are going into the final act with some really materials. It's going to be seriously epic.

I don't know the reasons behind doing this particular shoot -- could be star power, could be fan favourite related, could be story related.. but putting Jon and Dany together for this photo shoot would only enable fans like me to read more crazy but totally possible theories about Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. So, ok, here is what I think.... I get the connection between Dean, Sam, Crowley, Kevin and Naomi, but Benny? They are involving Benny in what I see as a mytho heavy episode. OMFG! I cannot wait! I love Benny. Season eight is progressing epically in ways I cannot explain. OK.. I can, but I'll leave my thoughts to later.

Review: Oz, The Great and The Powerful
Oz, the Con Man, the Cheesy Grin and his Monkey Friend.
There! I've renamed the movie.
I was never a big fan of the original The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I became a fan when I saw Wicked (the Broadway musical), Tim Burton's Alice and Charlie, and Zooey Deschanel's Tin Man, which was on the Sci Fi channel in 2007.
I like the originals enough to give the modern versions a go. I prefer the modern versions, only if they were done right. Each of the above example has successfully put their own spin on the story. I like them because I am more connected to them. Whereas the originals were always way too 'Disney' to me and they were seen as 'children movies', but I love the adult elements -- darkness, depth and struggle -- in the modern versions. Mums and dads would say today's children movies are sometimes a bit too dark for kids. But I love it. Make them cry!
As a die hard fan of Wicked, I have been waiting for the movie to come out since the news surfaced a few years ago. I shouldn't like Oz, the Great and the Powerful at all! You get in the way, Oz! Now, we have to wait for a few years for another Wizard of Oz movie. Knowing it is NOT Wicked, I prepared myself for Oz. I enjoyed it, but not loved it.
What worked? The visuals were magical. Zach Braff (aka Finley) was pretty much the highlight for me. I could watch the whole movie with him in it and China Girl. They could probably do a mash-up movie with Seth MacFarlane's TED in a musical format. Now, that!! That idea right there would totally work for me! If you are creating something, you may as well go all the way, don't go half in, half out.
What didn't work? I am not sure if this movie has a good script to start with. I am not sure about the casting choices. The dialogues were meh. The whole time I was waiting for this bad-ass epic spine-chilling moment, but it never happened. At times, the feel of the movie was way too 'Disney' for me. James Franco didn't work for me at all. I don't think he was the right actor for this role. He did ok with the comedic moments. The cheesy grin worked in some scenes but not all. The heart wrenching moments were not totally genuine. I think as a 'con man', Oz was not bad-ass enough. He was supposed to be a total bad ass/ ass hole, it got to the point where you totally hate him, like Sawyer in Lost. After you completely hate the character, the story would then reveal why he became the man that he was. And then you see his journey of self discovery and change. You would begin to may be like the guy or feel sorry for him. I think Oz could be written as a bad-ass a lot more. The writing and the construct of this version of Oz were too conservative and too 'Disney'. Con man = Sawyer. OK?!
What about the ladies? They were ok. I like the transformation of Mila Kunis's Theodora. I love the green girl, but this isn't the green girl we met in Wicked. Rachel Weisz's Evanora was ok, but she was only channeling the Disney-accepted evil. I've seen Michelle Williams in better roles, but her Glinda was alright. Wicked trained me to like the Wicked Witch more than the Good Witch. But I don't care so much about naming my favourite witch in this movie. Just give me more monkey scenes.
What's missing? The story, characters and dialogues were lacking wit, show power and identity. Wicked did so well with wit, darkness and friendship. Tin Man did well because Zooey Deschanel's performance made it enjoyable to watch. Alice and Charlie were Johnny Depp's one man show, that alone was awesome enough.
Oz, The Great and The Powerful should be popular with kids as it was done family friendly. But for a viewer like me who is looking for darkness and layers, this was ok. Like I said, the best thing in this movie was Zach Braff's Finley. But that's just me.
Let's Kickstart a mash-up musical movie with Finley, China Girl and TED right now!
Overall, I score Oz, The Great and The Powerful 6 out of 10.

Glee: Reviewing Season Four
What is going on with Glee this season? This show never failed me before, there was always something I like about an episode of Glee -- a musical number or an idea. I defended Glee on more than one occasions. In fact, one of the most read articles on this blog was inspired by Glee and Mr Schu.
The more I watch season four of Glee, the more I think the show's direction is lost, and it must be found again. I hardly read any reviews or go to fan forum for Glee, so I don't know what others think about this season of the show. I do dig the fact that this season goes to New York, but that's personal. I love the city and I think Rachel and Kurt are keeping that part of the show alive for me. I like their journey in the theater school and I kinda wish there is a spin-off. But I miss singing. They are not singing as much now, and I miss the Defying Gravity and For Good moment. I hate Brody.
Back in Ohio, apart from Blaine, everything else was a giant snooze fest. Marley, Jake, the other guy who looks like Sam and Cheerio Kitty are as boring as anything! There is no depth, no character, no charisma, no chemistry, no acting... there is nothing I can like about them. I think as new characters, if they are in the background, I would have been ok with it. But they are written as the main characters, and it's not working for me. I'd rather see other existing characters to take charge, but they are still in the background in my opinion.
In terms of the existing characters, they are doing ok with Blaine, but I think Darren Criss is too good for the show now. Then you got Arty, Sam, Brittany and Tina, who deserve more than they are being written now. I know it's hard when half the cast were graduated, but they have so many good materials to work on without introducing the boring Marley, Jake and the other guy who looks like Sam as main characters. All the signature bitchiness of Glee is singled-handedly carried on by Cheerio Kitty, who is nothing but an annoying copycat. Mr Schu was gone for awhile, leaving Finn to direct the Glee Club. While I like the idea of Finn directing the club (I think he is the right person for the job, considering he didn't get into colleague or the army), Mr Schu has been the kids' constant and he was taken out. Mr Schu is like the CTU, the Batcave and Watch Tower, the moment you take them out of the show, it's bad. I get it, but it never work! I think the Glee Club is without a powerful female vocal, and the show writers are not promoting Blaine in ways he should be promoted. Marley's singing is like Karen in Smash -- dull, dull and dull. And the writing of the show just isn't as good as what it used to be! I feel so sad about it!
I still watch Glee for Kurt, Rachel and Blaine, they are the only good things worth watching. But are the best days of Glee behind us?
Too Scared to Watch Bad Things
I am a pop culture enthusiast. I love TV, movies and music. I love them. Sometimes when things come out, I'm like "this could be the best or worst thing ever." And I am too scared to watch it.
You know how I feel about NBC's Smash. Season one was strange, it has more downs and ups. I do like the musical numbers occasionally, but the writing, the pace, the tone, as well as the acting were all over the place. I am too scared to watch season two. It's a matter of watching it in one go when the DVD is out, so I would only suffer 10+ hours (but do I really want to pay to watch it if it's crap?), or do I download it now and suffer for over ten weeks?
I love Ewan McGregor, I'd watch anything he is in it. I watched The Island for him to show my support. Now, I know Jack and The Giant Slayer is due to come out and I am thinking I will watch it for Ewan and Stanley Tucci, no matter how bad this movie might be. This movie certainly took advantage of the genre trend -- we have Once Upon A Time and Oz The Great and The Powerful, and Snow White and the Huntsman etc. I consider myself as a semi-big fairy tale genre fan, but why am thinking twice about watching this film?
I love Wicked! This is the one thing I wish someone is making a movie based on my favourite musical of all time. I'll watch it ten times! But then Oz the Great and the Powerful came through. I mean, it won't be another few years until we are ready to watch another movie based on the Wizard of Oz. Damn you Oz the Great and the Powerful. The trailer looks great and I have heard some good comments about it. This week, I will watch it twice with different friends. If it's worth blogging about, I will write a review about it.
Recently, I was being a good friend and watch Anna Karenina with my friend. I have never been so bored in my life watching a movie, the last I was cursing the script and everything about a movie was Van Helsing. I appreciate the artistry of Anna Karenina, but the pace wasn't carried out in the entire film. The cast performance was good, but too good it was depressing (which was kinda the point) and I wasn't in the mood for depressing movie. And there was a rat in the cinema during the last 15 minutes of the movie. I was freaking out. I lost my concentration completely, but kinda hoped that the rat appeared earlier so I could go home early! And I had no idea how the movie ended except Anna Karenina killed herself. By then I was ready to walk out.
And then there is Hansel and Gretel, I don't care what anyone said, I'd watch it for Jeremy Renner, who I think it's hot! But I've been putting it off for weeks, now the movie is no longer playing in my local cinema! Crap!
But, good things do happen. And they will happen very soon!!! Iron Man III and Star Trek Into The Darkness!! Hello!!!!! I've been watching far too many Star Trek related interviews of Chris Pine, Zach Quinto, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy on YouTube than I should!I don't know what happened there, but I fast tracked the end of my data usage the other night. I think I am a little obsessed with J.J Abrams than I care to admit. I think the rewatch of Star Trek is imminent.

Supernatural 'Freaks And Geeks' Description; Angel Metatron To Recur
This is the episode description for 8.18 Freaks and Geeks. This episode airs on March 27. Madison McLaughlin returns!!
8.18 Freaks and Geeks
SAM AND DEAN RUN ACROSS A NEW AND UNUSUAL TEAM OF HUNTERS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate some recent vampire kills and are surprised to learn Krissy Chambers (guest star Madison McLaughlin) is involved. They find Krissy and learn her father was killed and she’s been taken in by a man named Victor (guest star Adrian Hough), who has taken in a group of orphan kids to teach them how to hunt. Victor is helping the teenagers find the vampires who took their parents so they can get revenge. Sam is intrigued by Victor’s method of giving the teenagers a home life as well as a hunting life, but Dean is suspicious of Victor’s motives. John F. Showalter directed the episode written by Adam Glass. Source: KSiteTV
In other news, there are reports about the appearance of a new recurring character -- Metatron. This is what SpoilerTV reported:
"Episode 8.21 will see the introduction of a new character. This character will appear in episodes 8.21, 8.22 and 8.23 and has the possibility for more appearances in Season 9. His name is Metatron and is an aged angel, the scribe of God and has been around before the time of Adam and Eve. He is described as a cross between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Virgil Kent/Keyser Söze." Source: SpoilerTV
I literally screamed out loud!!! I love this!!!
That leads to my next question, so who is Naomi? I always thought she was Metatron. Perhaps she is Metatron's partner or adversary? Or alien? It's interesting to note that in angel lord, Metatron has a twin brother, Sandalphon. How much will we see Metatron? I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am right friggin now!!!

Supernatural 'Goodbye Stranger' Stills; VegasCon This Week
This photo fascinates me! |
The table is lit!!! Holy Dean Winchester! The Men of Letters are working. |
He is such a boy! |
Meg is giving the full wiki on where she's been. |
Dean realised Sam is still taller than him. |
SAM, DEAN, CASTIEL AND MEG TEAM UP AGAINST CROWLEY AND HIS DEMONS — Castiel (Misha Collins) reappears in Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) life and tells them Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) has unleashed several demons into a small town. The demons are looking for Lucifer’s Crypt, which holds a valuable asset, but Castiel lies to Sam and Dean about what it is. While interrogating a demon, the three discover Crowley has been torturing Meg (guest star Rachel Miner), who knows the exact location of the crypt. Sam and Meg fight to hold Crowley off while Dean and Castiel go in search of the crypt. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson.
On the convention front, VegasCon is happening this weekend, 8 -- 10 March at The Rio Suites Hotel! You must follow the hashtag #VegasCon on Twitter to get all the on the real time update from fans who are attendees. I am sure I will have a couple of sleepless nights to catch all the action from Vegas. What they are doing this year is that, Richard Speight Jr will be the Convention Host, that's new! And the convention has a massive line-up of guests including Ty Olson who appears for the first time for Supernatural.
At Vegas, Jensen and Jared will appear on Saturday instead of the usual Sunday. Gold ticket holders will get a lunch instead of breakfast. The general panel of J2 will be in later afternoon instead. I think this is a good schedule.
The schedule is now live, you can visit CreationEntertainment site for more information.
2014... I am planning to go! Anyone?

Weird Dreams Are Weird
I can't help but blog about the weird dreams I've been having lately. It's either the effect of watching too much TV or weird shit just happened in my dream.
First Up -- The Walking Dead
Last week, I literally woke up from this dream sweating and scared. I dreamt of me being inside a house with other people. We locked all the windows, switched off the lights and drawn the curtains. We monitored the outside situation and looked out for zombies. We had machine guns too. I was thinking to myself, I can't use guns! I have never fired anything before! I was gonna die screaming!
The next thing I remembered was seeing a few zombies out on the street. They didn't seem to know we were inside the house. But suddenly, someone knocked on the door, urging us to let them in. I had no idea who they were, but something told me I knew them. They were banging on the door so loud, the zombies were beginning to turn around and approach the house. I was scared. I didn't know if I should open the door and let them in. The zombies were closing in.
And then I woke up, thinking thank god it was only a dream because I was really scared!
Next Up -- Bus Trip
I was on a bus, I think I was on my way to work because the whole time I was telling myself I was running late for work. I was getting frustrated. But the bus driver kept giving us a sightseeing tour of where he used to work and live. I really didn't give a shit! I was late for work. There was no urgency of any kind. I was getting angry. Suddenly a guy, sat next to me and started get really flirty with me -- he was talking to me and holding my hands like I was his girlfriend or something. He was like "It's ok, [insert real name]" I was like, "No it's not. I am late for work." He was kinda cute. I had no idea who he was in my dream or real life.
The next thing I remembered was looking for a hairdryer at my sister's house. She was watching TV and wouldn't give it to me for some reasons. So I left. But I ended up in what appeared to be a hotel foyer. Everyone was acting weird, as if they couldn't really talk or very upset about something. The bellboy told me, "He was nowhere to be found. He is missing." I assumed he was telling me about my 'boyfriend from the bus'. And I told him, "Here is my number, call me if you hear anything."
And then I woke up.
Last one -- Job Interview
The other week, I had a dream about going for a job interview. I was on the bus, navigating my Google Map and asked the bus driver where the place was for my interview. He pointed me to the shopping centre nearby. I kinda questions his direction, because Google Map indicated something else. I got off the bus and ended up in a shopping centre. And then I realised I was lost. I checked my watch, SHIT, it was nearly 8:30am. I questioned myself, was my interview at 8:30am or 9:30am? I checked my phone but it wasn't working. It was frustrating!
I walked around the shopping centre and started to panic. I asked someone for direction, and that person took me outside. We were on a deck and the ocean was in front of us. But it was like a playground where kids screamed and played. There was this giant wave hitting the deck repeatedly. The person told me, to get to my interview I must walked through the wave and kept walking until I saw the place. I was like, no friggin way I would walk through through what appeared to be a tsunami!
And then I walked back inside the shopping centre and asked someone else. Clearly the person who told me to walk into the ocean was a nutjob! Two girls were very helpful, they pulled up a map and got on their smartphone for internet, they even got into a few arguments in the process of helping out to find this place. And suddenly their friend appeared, the girls told me I should follow their friend, she could take me there. I was like.. great! Awesome!
Their friend, a girl, never spoke a word to me. I wasn't sure if she couldn't talk or what. But I followed her. She and I walked through the deck and the wave was hitting the deck, but not me. I didn't remember getting wet. We arrived at the end of the walkway, and she pointed a spot on a floating deck and insisted I sat down. So I sat down. I had no idea what was going on. And then it moved, like a speech boat. I was on my way!
I started to see an island with buildings and lights. It seemed like an industrial place to me. The 'speed boat/ floating deck' thing docked. I got out with a few other people, I didn't even know they were with me the whole time. And I realised they were tourists because there was some sort of a tour guide person.
I saw what appeared to be an admin building, I walked inside and told the receptionist who I was and I was here for an interview. She seemed to be expecting me. She took me inside. We walked through what appeared to be a submarine. We arrived in a private room, because the sofas were nice. She asked me to wait.. so I waited.
And then, Peter Jackson appeared. That's right! PETER FRIGGIN LORD OF THE RINGS JACKSON! He was apologetic and said a bunch of things about not knowing how to use his phone and all that. And I was sat there, stoned! I was going for an job interview with Peter Jackson!
And then I woke up.
Three words: WHAT THE FUCK?
Any idea what my dreams meant? I'd be interested in your interpretation!
